What strength of spring, and what are the details on the battery?

Does it get stuck like that, like the spring guide gets stuck in the piston even with the mechbox halves apart?

Seen this sort of thing a few times, once was with a Systema piston jamming on the mechbox rails at a certain point (fixed by careful filing), the other times was due to the bearing spring guide jamming up the rear of the piston, gun would run fine with stock guide, but would jam fully rear with the bearing one.

everything is stock on the gun except the piston head and piston so i would assume the spring is a m120, which the stock motor can pull back. i am not using a sorbo pad. i am using a 9.6v 1500mah battery in this gun

Slowly slide the piston on the rail of each half of the mechbox and see if any little spots of resistance. If not, file down the rails on the piston and put the mechbox back together. Could be the rails are a touch too wide for the mechbox. Many companies (including the expensive ones) make parts that are out of tolerance with other manufacturers, and issues like this pop up at times when mixing brands.

You might also want to grease the sides of the piston where it slides on the rails.

Test it with another motor. I just went through hours of shimming and checking piston clearance, when it was just a used up motor. Dropped in a EG1000 and away she went. Put in a cheap Dboys just to see and it worked as well. The original CA "high torque" motor had no torque.

hmm that might be the problem, but the thing is i dont have another motor. how much generally is a good high torque motor that will give me around 900-1000 rpm on a 9.6v 1500mah battery?

The good old EG700 should do well in your gun, and is around $45.
