The P90 Project

Hey there so one of my cousins has a crapsoft Well D90 and I like the shell of P90s, knowing this is crapsoft it does not matter cause its for free. I was wondering is there certain gearboxes that can fit into this crap-90.

I'll read the tutorials about cannabalizing and fixing gearboxes and rewiring and all, I mean if I can fix an ipod nano and paintball guns, airsoft guns should not be too hard to pickup cause I have the patience for it and I am a quick learner

Anyway back on topic, so I was thinking of two ways of approaching this

1. Go on ehobby and buying the P90 gearbox from ehobby, just a question the picture shows it as a metal casting of it, does it also come with all the necessary gears for it to work? Or is it just a shell of the gearbox
http://cgi.ebay.com/Marui-P90-M1A1-A...QQcmdZViewItem

2. Switch out a JG MP5 internals and put it in the P90
(This will take a lot of re-wiring and super patience that everything fits flush)

I heard I will need a new gearbox and barrel for sure other than that what do you guys think? Keep in mind the Well D90 is free, either it goes back on his wall to display and collect dust or I can build it up to a nice shooter

Wow, you're in for a hell of a time.
Firstly, it looks like you're getting just the gearbox... at that price, the internals would have to be horrible.
Secondly, I do believe you need a v6 cylinder head...

The hell of a time was when I bought a Ipod nano for $10 cause it fell in a sink of water, opened it up tinkered with the mini hard drive then un-soddered the battery points and re-soddered on the new battery

That was fun, not too mention I had a giant soddering iron when the project needed a micro sodder, but I still got it too work, also had to replace the screen to that was fun too

But thanks for the tips

V6 Cylinder you say? This one?

that gearbox on ehobby is just the metal shell. you will need to buy everything that a gearbox needs
ive had one of those well p90's for almost a year now and its been the only plastic gearboxed crapsoft that hasnt eventaully broken. yes it still shoots! too bad its a weak piece of shit

hmm.... since youd have to buy the gearbox shell and every single one of its components maybe youd just be better off buying a tm p90.

I'd honestly just forget it. That e-bay link is just the mechbox shell, it has nothing inside of it. A complete V6 MB is probably going to run you $100. If you can modify the gun to take a v2 is might be a better approach.

That would be lovely to do but I live in Canada, and Airsoft is in the grey area of the law sometimes you get the gun but most of the time you get customs saying this is a restricted replica firearm

Nope sadly not, most of the retailers got knocked out or the ones left only have a small amount on stock due to the stricter gun laws

Oh and TM P90s here go for double its price, $600, if I could buy it on sale I would have long ago

I seriously wouldn't bother if I were you.

Both CA and JG/ECHO are releasing their P90 as we speak. P90 availability and pricing should be improving shortly, even for us.

I managed to snag the last TM P90 out of Andersons for $300 last time I was there, although the trades were removed.
I'm curious to see how CA's version will do.

oh god, i can't wait for the plethora of p90 accessories that'll come out when those two are released. For the love of god Classic Army, PLEASE make mags without the fake bullets in them. Getting p90 mags right now is such a hassle, locaps are good, but they're low, and finding pouches for a lot of mags isn't easy, and the hicaps are garbage.

Very true, accessories are hard to find and usually expensive for the P90.
