Importing a Teeny Slide and Barrel

I'm wondering about importing a G26c slide and barrel. The only thing I'm really worried about, is that Canada doesn't like gun barrels <4 inches. I'm sketchy on if it would get seized. If it gets seized, would I be able to make a case that it's not for a gun, and can't be put on a gun, and isn't a lower frame?

Give me your thoughts. Or better, facts from people who have imported teeny barrels.

The barrel may in fact be for a firearm. You may be able to magically make the G26c shoot in excess of the leagl limit. The CBSA doesn't know that. If you surrendered your gun for testing, in a year or two they may not be able to make it fire in excess of 500 fps and/or 5.7J of muzzle energy. In which case, you'd be OK to import that barrel, maybe. Basically, who knows 100% anything that the CBSA does, but we all know what they're capable of. I'm really helpful here, with bureaucratic logic, aren't I?

105mm is the minimum length under the law. 4 inches is 101.6mm, give or take a little bit. That eliminates alot of real guns as well as hamper some airsoft ones.

I was basically saying, if it were seized, could I not argue that it isn't rifled and not for a firearm, and could never fire real ammunition?

As mcguyver said, yes, you can argue that, and they can decide to test it... Or they could decide to not believe you and seize it anyway. Just because you're right doesn't mean it'll get through.

That said, you shouldn't have a problem getting the slide, and if you do order the barrel, I wish you luck in getting it through.

ask them to declare it as a metal flute.

I'm sure you could easily play tunes on it

Like anything else with CBSA, it's a gamble. We've seen lately some really fine examples of the crap it can lead to.

Your choice.
