Help looking for holster.
Hi, I'm looking for a holster for my TM Hi-Capa 5.1, which has been outfitted extensively. I'm completely new to holster-shopping, so any and all advice would be very helpful.
The Hi-Capa 5.1 has a silencer and a laser installed. So it's actually a pretty big gun now. Is there any holster that will fit this? As for the style of the holster, I'm looking for a *very* secure fit that will let me run around without the gun shaking around. I don't really care about asthetics. So a cheap but durable holster would be perfect. Thank you thank you thank you. -Cuppo |

Look for the ones who fit some MK23 all geared up, that should fit your baby!

Just a note, if you plan on using those cheap generic holsters be prepared to lose a mag or run around with no mag in your secondary. It happens all the time and is especially bad with the Hi Capa 5.1 because its mag release sticks out so much.
Do yourself a favor and invest in something good like a Blackhawk or Safariland. Expensive but they rock. |

How much did you spend on your gun? Maybe $800 ish?
How much are you going to spend on holster (or think of it as a "secure protective carry system" ) $10 ish? Yikes!

In my experience, it's not very common for someone to have their sidearm holstered with the silencer attached. I have a SOCOM as well and its almost as long as my arm with the silencer on. I am more of a drop leg holster kinda guy so thats not a good option since the silencer would be hitting my knee with every step. I am also a LAM fan (isnt it obvious with my MGS avatar?) so I wanted something that would allow me to have many options. I ended up with this: https://www.sealsactiongear.com/cata...?idProduct=540 I like how I can add my own ammo pouches (I alternate between my MK23 and G26C) allowing me to use my glock hicaps when I want to. I also like how it is ambidextrous...probably not a big thing for you but I swap it up sometimes to make it interesting. It can also accomadate a light/laser combo depending on how big the weapon and light are. I have a Marui fixed slide SOCOM with the replica Wilcox LAM, but the LAM doesnt fit. In the holsters defence, that is a huge LAM on a huge gun. My TLR-2, M6x, and Insight LAM all fit nicely when mounted on my KSC MK23(which is very slightly bigger than the Marui version).
Prior to this one, I used a knockoff version of the Wilcox MK23 holster (http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwol...il?prodID=9069) and I got some major bruises on my thighs from running around with it. Because the holster was so large, it would flap around sideways when I ran. It was great since it held everything but hurt like a mofo afterwards. The Eagle holster has the leg straps on the outside of the weapon so it holds it very snug against your leg. When first hearing this setup, I thought it would be bad for reholstering my sidearm since it would probably collapse with the tension for the legstraps...not so. The inner holster pouch (as you can see here: https://www.sealsactiongear.com/cata...ct=539&image=3) has a thicker webbing that goes along the pistol slides top allowing it to keep its shape without the weapon holstered. I am a very big fan of dual retention. Airsoft isn't life or death so the extra second doesn't make a difference and I like the idea of not accidentally losing/dropping/messing up my pistols. There is both a thumb break and side release buckle, both can be placed where you want them or are removable. I like this idea since I like my thumb break a little lower than most holsters have them. I have the side release buckle in use for most of the game except when I enter a cqb type situation that might require the use of a pistol. Hope this helps you out man...that company special orders it from Eagle Industries and is located in Canada somewhere so it is probably convenient for you. It's a bit pricey for some people, but worth it for the added retention and multiple options that it allows. ANNNNND it comes in Multicam...oh baby! |

Thanks for the help guys,
I am looking forward to picking up a drop-leg holster sometime soon. I'll finally be able to play with both my rifle and pistol at the same time. |

Like what's been posted above, get a rigid holster, like a Safariland, or replace your mag release with a low-profile one. If you go to a soft, cheap holster, be prepared to be replacing mags as they will fall out like crazy. I've lost one and most guys who used a soft holster with pretty much any 1911-variant have had this issue.
In the end, the cheap holster will cost you more money is lost mags and grief than it could ever be worth in saving over the proper holster.

Anyone have a line on where to get good deals on Safariland holsters? 6004 specifically, but the whole line in general.

I think he means "How much did you spend on the real gun, not the airsoft one?" or it could mean "How much did you spend on that upgraded, new Marui with extra mags?" Either way, it's a poor choice to invest the security of your hard-earned money (namely your gun and mags) in a cheap holster.
