M4 upgrade
Hey guys, i'm thinking of getting a M4 to go with my CA M24. Couple questions on a couple things.
TM or CA for the M4? CA already comes full metal and is cheaper... but will the upgrades work for it? I'm looking for that 'real' feel w/o spending $1000 or more. I will work on upgrading the inside and the outside to give it a more unique (lol) look. Any ideas/suggestions for parts? Thx a lot And yes i have look around, but i prefer to leech on the experience of you guys before dishing our a lot of money on a secondary gun when i'm not sniping. |

That depends on you. Both brands, CA and TM are very reliable. Both have advantages over the other. Yes, the CA comes with a metal body and all, but some upgrades need modification or won't fit at all. My brother-in-law has a CA M15A4 and upgraded it internally and cosmetically. He upgraded the spring and few internals and really had no problems until this past weekend where he rounded his pinion gear on the motor as well the (correct me if I'm wrong) spur or bevel gear (gear which the pinion gear connects to). I have a TM M4A1 and so far upgraded it cosmetically. I've got the internal upgrades on order.
I suggest get a reinforced gearbox, better piston, spring, tightbore barrel, a crane stock to name a few. Systema has pre-built reinforced gearbox's that are made to shoot at different FPS. That may be a better route if you don't have the time to build a new gear box. Plus it would be cheaper to go that route as depends on what parts you want that will cause the cash flow go down rapidly. You can usually pick up those Systema box's for around $400-$500 CDN through one of the retailers. But I would suggest if you go this route, to pick the gearbox that's set to fire around the 400fps as most field have a 400fps restriction on AEG's. http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...X_srch_systema Hope this helps.
