Can a silencer be put on a CA M24 ?
Hi
If anyone can help, I am looking at acquiring a classic Army M24. Does anyone know if there is tread inside the barrel for me to screw a silencer or an adapter for a silencer to be screw on ? No if this exist, what is the tread ? CW or CCW Thanks for all your help ? Dan |

Yup the end screws off and its threaded on the inside. I know there is a silencer or silencer adapter that does exist for it but I have no interest in it so I've never really tried to find it. The gun is already dead quiet compared to an AEG and since its a single pop instead of a long drawn out sound of an AEG firing full auto its incredibly hard to determine even which direction the sound is coming from. Outside in a wooded area where the foliage absorbs sound you have to be pretty close (within maybe half the maximum range of an upgraded M24) before you can really hear anything. Also the gun is already ~46" long so be prepared to carry around a massive gun.
Its a standard CW thread, not CCW like most AEG's though I don't know what the pitch of the thread is. |

LUTNIT is just scared that the gun might make him look small is all. Not often you get a 7 foot tall Japanese guy running around with a heft M24 and make it look small! Then again, he does always go after "long" arms.
The other thing with a silencer on an M24 is really going to be length and availability to any cans that look good on a rifle like that, specially if you have the fluted barrel design. Unless you have one that sleeves over the end of the barrel to reduce length and actually push both cool and fear factor up. Oh, also, you're supposed to be making your shots from atleast 50 feet away! How the heck are they going to hear *click*!?!?

minimum 50' yes but the maximum range is (sometimes depending on the conditions) upwards of 150-175'. But yes even at 50' unless its across open terrain in a hard environment (concrete, steel, etc.) that doesn't absorb any sound you'll have a read hard time hearing the shot if you can at all. I've watched CDN_Stalker nail someone from hiding and the other guy was spinning in all directions trying to see where it came from, he had no idea. That was in an open grassy field at about 50-60'.
And I'm not 7' tall, only 6'3" though I suppose that is tall for an (half) Asian. Also the KJW M700 is quieter both in firing and cocking compared to the CA M24 (both without silencers.) Last edited by LUTNIT; March 11th, 2007 at 23:22.. |

CA M24 or TM VSR GSPEC ?
Hi
Thanks for your answer...I did not know that the M24 had treads on it. Do you have one, how do you compare it to a TM VSR G SPEC...? Reliability, look, durability ? When a M24 comes stock, does it have a decent range ? I am not to hot on upgrades... Let me know what you think Thanks Dan PS: The silencer is for look only and not to suppress the sound |

As far as I can tell, no, there is no adaptor for the M24. KJW M700, yes, M24, no. Heck, I've never been able to unscrew the endcap on my M24!
Looks are one thing, but the M24 is a long ass'd bastard that adding another foot or so in length to is pretty useless, even if it has an advantage. Adding a foot long supressor to a 4 foot long gun for looks sake only is kinda lame, regardless of real steel guns not having the option at all. The CA M24 is one of the quietest shooting spring rifles out there, no need to pull hair out looking for a supressor and adaptor to screw up your accuracy. |

Ok, next question is how to get off the endcap (mine doesn't budge and there's not enough sticking out to remove it with any kind of tool), and the BIG reason, WHY put a supressor on an M24? It's dead quiet as it is, a supressor will just hang you up in brush more than having any benefit (including looks).

Nope it does not have that screw like aeg's. My M24's barrel end cap is loose so I have to teflon it.

Why would you want a silencer on a m24?
So you can put a psg1 barrel in it.

If we talk real steel, I think the real M24 weapon system doesn't have any silencer whatsoever.
Only the M24A2 has a silencer as well as a cool rail; American Rifleman's M24A2: YouTube - Remington's M24-A2 Sniper Rifle

Except the APS cylinder, unless it's modified to work in the M24 (for their info, not yours Vondnik).
