TM M14 to M1 Garand AEG conversions

I came across this the other day and I thought it was great. I'm sure others will find it interesting. The pictures are great. It's an alternative to the gas powered M1 Garand. It would be great if you have a M14 or if you can pick one up second hand.

that's really interesting and since the M14 is a great weapon ( AEG , semi-full auto capable ) that would make the perfect WW2 weapon , good find !

Attack, The kit comes with one shortened M-14 low cap mag that fits snug to the base of the gun. (hangs down about 1/4") barely noticeable in the gun. This can be used as a template for converting others if the owner so desires. The shortened mags are only 12 to 14 rounds, which is still better then the 8 round mags for the Gas Garand. Good news is they fit nicely in the Garand pouch web belts.

In addition to the shortened mag, obviously regular, low cap or high cap mags can also be used which clearly isn't right visually but functionally works fine. He leaves the shortened mag in for pictures and he says that he uses low caps when skirmishing. It may not look right but he's okay with the compromise. I would be too.

Yeah, I've started my search for a used M-14. Hopefully I can pick one up at a price that will not cost an arm and a leg.

I recently picked up a G&G M14 and I am planning to modify it with a real wooden stock. After seeing this thread I think I'll go all the way and try to turn it into a Garand. I wonder if the G&G M14 is identical to the TM one? Will this kit also fit on the G&G M14?

I don't know Preston. I'd suggest contacting him and find out. Whatever you find out make sure that you post it here and share it with the rest of us.

I have contacted him, waiting on a reply, just for a little bit more info on the actual contents of the package, etc.

In the process of getting my m4 ready to be sold, so the money I get from the m4 sale I will have enough to get my m14 and then this kit. So I'll let you all know how that goes!

2ndBat is a good guy. I've talked to him an' read over the development of this kit on WW2 Airsoft boards. He's sure makin' progress an' gettin' this kit dang near perfect.

G&G M14s are not the same as TMs from what I understand. they may be similar in terms of mechboxes, however the magazine, and Hop Up systems are very different IIRC.
