A Better Mesh Mask?
I stumbled across these masks online recently and kind of fell in love with the look and design.
Link to Store From my understanding, only the centre portion is mesh, the sides are cordura/cloth to improve cheek weld and flexibility. I generally don't have too much a problem with standard mesh masks and cheek weld, but this mask seems to do a better job handling it, while still providing a bit of impact protection, compared to using something like a mouth-guard. I've seen some people cut mesh masks to only cover the vital portions of their face; mouth, nose... Unfortunately the product is not available in North America yet, and is a bit pricy when converting to CAD. I'm kind of tempted to make my own version, but using an inner layer that is more breathable and not as abrasive on the skin as I imagine cordura would be. |

Looks like something you could DIY with the right material.

the sites name is like a mix of Rainbow Six and The Divison lol. Masks look awesome however the price seem a tad bit high if you convert to CAD.

looks like 500d cordura, which would be like sandpaper on your skin if the backside is all cordura and not something like neoprene or something more comfortable.
it's a great idea... needs more work on execution.

From what I can tell, he's using a double layer of cordura. I might try to make my own with either some sort of breathable mesh, or moisture-wicking material lining the interior. Now the elusive task of tracking down a local source of cordura... |

Don't know if there's really a "better mesh mask" asides from the material made.. I know there's a vendor in the vendor that makes it out of high quality steel? ($40 USD IIRC).. but they all still get in the way for me >:|
Buddy switched to a mouth guard + shemagh mask; he had no issues at LT and Siege games, this way he can rest his cheek on the stock. |
