First gun, good choice?

So I am getting a G&P Ak Tactical (product page: http://www.torontoairsoft.com/GP-AK-...ck_p_2409.html). This is kinda my first gun, I bought a cheap AEG at Wall-mart before he he and was wondering if I was making a good choice. Also the fps is not showing on the product page but I think it's 366FPS after doing searches, if someone could confirm thanks! So yea, how is it for my first choice?

Also what kind of battery do I need? Nun chuk, mini or stick??

Re FPS: I would call/message TA they'll be able to tell you what it's shooting at as well as change the FPS for you if you want. Often times Canadian retailers have to change the "stock" FPS when importing guns.

That gun should fit a 9.6v stick if you're going nimh, or a 7.4v 1000-1200mah lipo http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...uYLaCqumNcB-Hw . I would double check with TA to be certain.

I wouldn't say the G&P is a bad buy, but IMO Real Sword and LCT make the best AKs on the market. Real Sword may be difficult to find and potentially out of your price range but an LCT AK is something you should consider. They don't make one exactly like that but they have several tactical style AKs if that's what you're into. Just stay away from the under-fold stocks.

They don't sell any Real sword or LCT AKs on TA.

Get Age verified and then you can pick from a ton of used/new/retailers.

TA isn't your only option. You can go to TA to get Age verified though.

Although a great retailer, not the only game in town.

OP: I don't know much about AK model rifles myself as I don't really like them, but checking out reviews on youtube, forums and other locations can usually give you an idea as to what the gun is like and what quirks to look out for. Some even state what battery they are using. Try googling G&P AK Tactical review, should pull up some information if you haven't already. Otherwise, if you can get to a store that has it in stock, try to handle it before you buy it. An uncomfortable rifle will be a buzzkill when you try to game it. Good luck!

PS: Since your not AV'd (Age Verified) we are not allowed to link sites to guns, and you shouldn't post the link either (I know it was for informative purposes, just ASC regulations). As Biorage said, if you get AV'd then you can get access to the classifieds, which has a host of new, lightly used, heavily used and everything in between for guns, gear and other stuff. Check here to see who is closest to you and get AV'd: http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=74996

That's good brand and gun to start out with. G&P are famous for other guns but they seem to be pretty decent overall. I saw a good list of starter guns over on this site that list lots of details on each gun including fps. I'd recommend the combat machine on the second page as it shoots stock under the 366 or one of the G36ks with the 350 fps limit. http://triple-r-review.com/?p=51

The guy is showing us a fairly decent looking G&P AK that he bought and you recommend a combat machine?

Please do not get a combat machine. Cheap cheap cheap and they break like cheap guns.
