G&g gbbrs

Hi guys,
I'm looking at getting myself a GBBR, and I noticed that G&G is making gas m4s now. Any thoughts on them?

Depends on your budget, tons of threads floating around via company comparison.

Don't know much about them, but they don't seem as swell as the other brands.

Depends on your budget, I'd check out WE and G&P!

You are also local in Toronto, so make sure you check out some of the local retailers..

As I understand it, G&G GBBRs are G&G AEGs with the GHK GBBR kit factory installed.

So if you search for reviews of the "ghk gbbr kit" you can find some general thoughts on the mechanism.

Also, this.

When it comes to researching GBBRs, you should look at the "system" that is being used.
If it's GHK (which sounds right), then it's a Western Arms (WA) Magna system.

There's four popular systems for GBBRs: WA, WE, KJW, and KWA
It's important to know these, because you'll need to know the magazine types, what replacement parts to get, and what to watch for when you first get your gun.

Here's a really good WA information thread: http://airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=95709

I'd make sure you read the first two posts - although they're long, and some of the information is a bit outdated, it's a very good starting point for understanding where a GHK GBBR kit (what G&G is likely using) stands in the WA world. You can then compare how a WA stands in the GBBR world against the other three systems.

GHK is NOT WA system. GHK has it's own proprietary system, and that's also what's in the G&G gas AR's.

Thanks Styrak, I stand corrected. Sorry for the misinformation.
I looked back at Kullwarrior's thread (that I linked to) to see why I thought that, and it says GHK makes WA magazines. Is that still the case? A quick google search didn't tell me much.

Should the OP note if he's buying a GHK mag for a GHK system or for a WA system?
