Missfeeding issues

Lately my TM M16 has been having feeding issues. It fires okay for a bit then it I stop shoots then if I take out the mag and put it back in or wind up my high cap it shoots again sometimes one or two shoots or whole mags. I do not think it is the tappet plate but I noticed that the hop-up sleeve is damaged. The peice that touches the barrel edge and hop-up to make a smooth edge is damaged. Could this be the problem?

Yes, that probably is the problem. Guns usually have problems with feeding if hopup sleeve gets chewed up over time.

Okay thanks at least it's nothing serious. I'm ordering one soon anyways.

Well I finally got my hop-up sleeve in and I installed it and it is still having feeding issues as described above and I have no clue what could be wrong. Also is it possible that I installed the peice wrong and is there a way to check if the tappet plate is broken without taking apart the mech box?

Could someone give me a list of possible things that cause feeding problems and does anyone know of any airsmiths in the Thunder Bay ON area.

To check mag catch issue try firing the gun in normal possition while pushing mag up with your hand. Try more than one mag if possible. See if there is any difference.
Also, it's a good idea to have your mags lubed with silicon oil. You never know...

Is it possible that the piston is sucking air in instead of pushing it out because I put my finger on the thing that the air is pushed through and it felt like it was sucking. I hope I can figure out what is wrong with it.
