US Army, B.A.R Gunner, Normandy 1944

Took my BAR out for a spin on the weekend at a new North East Scotland site. Replaced the Ranger tabs with the Big Red One patch (I need para boots, not gaiters for an accurate 2nd Rangers impression) Going for a late Normandy Campaign look, Operation Cobra probably.

Wearing the jacket over the webbing this time, noticed a fair soldiers doing it in the newsreels and photos. Very comfortable, and actually handy for the heat, you can take off the jacket when you are getting a bit sweaty and not have to worry about removing your harness!

God damnit where is everyone getting these B.A.R.s?!?!?!?!

I thought whatever company only made like 300 of them, but every joe over in your area seems to have one...

VFC makes em.

Great impression.

Only 1 problem.

This is supposed to be WW2. Where are all the whizzing bullets, bomb craters, burning ruined buildings and dead bodies?

I was very lucky, I just got the tail end of the supply in the UK when I realised that they were actually limited editions and ran around like a maniac trying to find one before they disappeared! They are indeed rare as hen's teeth....

Hey Beastor, are your wearing the medic yoke with the B.A.R belt or just the usual M36 suspenders?

UNCompany still has the "not so limited" version is stock.

As far as the ACM B.A.R goes; your guess is as good as mine as who has them or if they have even been made.

I have the "not so limited" VFC BAR. Very solid and sexy rifle. Shot like an old mans dick though stock. Needed a much much longer inner barrel for starters.

Nice impression. I noticed that you went with the M43 pants instead of the OD field wool pants.

Are they M43 pants or HBT's?
