Want 'em, can't find 'em anywhere. Anyone know where I can get some? Preferably in a pack of ten or so...

FYI he's looking for AK74 style. You guys use LMGFY is actually misuse AFAIK there's no Real cap AK74 mags. EDIT: *SMACK* KNIVEZS...They don't have Ak74 realcap, although it has Low-Cap for AK74 Recoil Engine I highly doubt hes using it. Please don't provide these links if they're no good. FYI: There's no Real cap AK74 atm There's no Low-Cap AK74 for standard AK47/74 series (Recoil Engine is unique) There's midcaps (G&P, VFC, MAG are examples. G&P is reported to be the best so far) There's lots of high caps (D-Boys, G&P, VFC) Last edited by kullwarrior; April 5th, 2010 at 23:31.. |

Thanks, to those of you who were helpful, although I'm not terribly pleased with the answer. I don't suppose it's possible to pin a mag at 30/40 rounds? I know you can with the real steel...

What about just putting 30-40 rounds in? When I fill my midcaps I always count how many BBs. 4 BBs per depression of speedloader and I usually only put 120 BBs (30 depressions of speedloader plunger) in my G&P AK74 mags. So just calculate what your speedloader puts in each depression of the plunger and multiply by the amount you want in each mag.
Having said that there is a youtube video I recall seeing on pinning AK74 AirSoft mags at realcap capacities... I think they were MAG brand IIRC.

To the smartasses with the LMGFY shit, the OP actually has a valid question: AK74 locaps/realcaps pretty much don't exist (STAR use to make some but they're discontinued).
Infractions handed out. "Short filling" mags is annoying on the field when you're trying to reload quickly. I don't personally consider it an option. The M.A.G. mags are next to impossible to take apart (glued together one-ish piece design) so not the best choice to mod, IMO. What I did for some TM M4 locaps I wanted to make realcaps (34 rounds, actually, so all 30 would feed) was open them up and fill the "bottom" of the BB path with BBs (i.e., behind the spring). So there's 33 BBs that never come out. The mags are old and the springs were getting weak, so it's a double bonus. Not many companies make AK74 mags to begin with and everyone who currently does has mid or highcaps. So what I plan on getting is G&P midcaps (150 rounds -- which look like they can be taken apart) and doing the same mod to bring them down to at least lowcap).

Tried them for what? Do they carry locap AK74 mags that no company currently manufacturers?

That's what I've been using, they actually fit okay in most AK models (CYMA/Cybergun, Marui, DBoys/Kalash, CYMA+TM w/ KA mag catch) unlike some of the other brands.

Drake, let me know how the g&p conversion goes I just order box of 10 on g&p mags
I'm wondering if it's possible just drill a hole and put a pin through the inner body to stop the follower going lower of course the spring will need to be cut |

Here's an idea I've thought about and it should work in theory but it will be a PITA without some sort of "safe location" to refill your mags.
You know those tube and plunger loaders that you get with new guns? Well why don't you use an old stock inner barrel (a lot of people will upgrade to TBB's so if you have an extra or know anyone with an extra just ask). From there just measure the length that 30 BB's take and cut the barrel accordingly, you probably don't need to worry about crowning and all that since it's just a quick and dirty hack but you get a tube and plunger that will now measure out 30 BB's (not to mention it's a piece of metal so a lot more durable than the POS plastic loaders that I've heard break at the feeding lip part easily if you're rough with it). Only problem being is that you probably can't load up your mags on the field and will need to load your mags up in the safe zone or similar area where you can keep your gear and loader.
