Just Out of Curiosity...
Which spring is stronger, a Systema M170 Spring or a Prometheus MS210SP Spring?

So far as I know, both the Systema "M" and Prometheus "MS" labeling systems stand for Meters/Second.
A M120 spring means 120 m/s = 120*3.3 = 396fps But note...practically, a lot of rifles with M4 length barrels, and mild upgrade parts will put out 420-440fps.... So a M170 = 561fps theoretical and a MS210 = 693fps theoretical both with .20g bbs have fun...best of luck...(for the one shot you'll get...LOL) |

from what I had read, I thought M120 and M120S were both rated for the same speed.

The material used.
M120 springs are tempered through oil quenching in order to harden it and help it a bit with oxidation prevention. M120S, on the other hand, are produced from stainless steel strands. Naturally harder and already carrying anti-oxidation properties, these springs are actually recommended more for users who shoot more in full auto. The ability of the material to retain its original formed elasticity and tension makes it great for heavy AEG users. In that regard, the M120 spring is recommended by Systema more for plinkers and target shooters, whereas the M120S is recommended more for skirmishers. The different properties of the material create the variance in velocities. |

But an M120S in my AUG would put me over the limit (425) here ![]() |

And that's why I stick with Prometheus springs when I need to be under 400fps...

I'm not planning on getting of any of these springs, then I wouldn't be able to play in games at all. I'm planning on getting a Prometheus MS120SP or maybe a Systema M120.
I was just curious because the spring chart doesn't show any results for springs higher than a Systema M120S and a Prometheus MS120SP. I even asked different airsoft retailers, and they don't even know the answer. |

I never put springs of that nature in to the chart for a multitude of reasons.
Funding and time being the biggest hindrance, but the fact that there is a minimal market for such items in Canada, I chose to keep them off the list. |

Yup, why test springs no one here is going to use.
