lets compile a list of what we want to know is/not restricted
seeing that there really isnt a clear list as to what is restricted and what not (i couldn't find one after searching) i thought it might help all the newcomers and people who are confused as to what is restricted to enter thru canadian customs and so on. so here i go afaik:
GBB body----------------------- = restricted GBB barrel---------------------- = restricted? GBB internals (pins/hammers/etc) = not ?? AEG gearbox+ internals---------- = not Inner barrels ------------------- =not BB ----------------------------- = not AEG bodies metal----------------= restricted AEG bodies plastic ---------------= not sure at all Magazines (no dummy round)----- = not Magazines (dummy bullets) ------ = restricted optics ---------------------------= not RIS/RAS------------------------- = not??? tactical lights/lasers ------------- = not batteries------------------------ = not combat gear--------------------- = not thesee are all that i can think of right now. correct me if i am wrong and feel free to tell me to add more items so we can add to this list. i hope i did some people a fav cuz iv been lookin for a list myself |

Rule of thumb: most receivers have two main parts. Usually, whatever makes the thing go boom will have the serial number on it. Usually, the part with the serial number is restricted.
Therefore, stuff like GBB barrels and slides may pass, as should a P90 lower or an Armalite upper. However, it's pretty frackin' random when you get an uninformed custom's agent. |

like the P90....
MP5 upper- restricted AUG Upper- restricted If you order the lower and it gets seized call them on it, that is not the controlled part of the gun. If you order an upper and its get through, don't worry. M203, M79 and any 40mm launcher are restricted Note about real stuff from the states: Some real sights and rails and uppers are not easy to export from the states, check the export law . Yeah, that other thread has the MUCH shorter list of what IS restricted. It's much easier to check a list of 5 items than a list of potentially dozens of items.
The list of items for guns is pretty short: PISTOLS lower frames (plastic or metal) Outer barrels shorter than a certain length (don't know the number offhand) For AEGs, the only thing restricted is PARTS of the body. For most guns, that's the lower receiver, since that's the part that contains the serial number on the real gun. For a few models like the MP5 and P90, it's the upper receiver that's restricted. It doesn't matter if the body is made of plastic or metal. It's a restricted item as long as it isn't clear plastic.

There is a list somewhere, kind of hidden though... I had trouble finding it myself as it was not very clearly labeled.
Basically you CANT order: Body's for guns (metal or plastic) "Frames" for pistols Magazines with fake bullets in them (g36mags for ex.) Items that are 50/50 chance: Silencers 40mm Grenade shells Anything that looks like an explosive such as a dummy grenade THe only thing you can do to "bring down the cost of an AEG" is too go to the USA and buy a AEG there, strip it at the airsoft store and only take all the parts except the body. Declare the parts at the boarder so you get them through. Then when in Canada, purchase a metal body (or used plastic body) and re-build it here. In the end you will have roughly for the same price of an AEG here, a metal body's airsoft gun for the same price. So its worth it to do if you have time to go down and/or are looking to upgrade to a metal body anyways. |

isn't slide half-half?
I recall someone mentioned that a compact size could get seize easily (IE sub-compact/slimline glock and usp compact) |

shouldn't, it is the barrel length that matters.

Anything related to M203 launcher is also at risk.

Anything that's listed as restricted in the firearms act is restricted. Read it.

Inert munitions are also restricted IIRC.
