G&G GR16 R4C Trouble

Alright... so i get this gun and everything seems ok... until i connect my 9.6v 1000mah battery which makes the gun work for exactly 2.4 secondes and then doesnt do anything...(battery was charged) now everytime my battery connects the gun does a clicking sound but nothing else...

Now i was thinking that maybe the fuse was burnt by accidently putting the positive into the negative and vice versa but thats just a guess because i dont recall doing that mistake...

the motor works fine after opening the handle from the bottom it did a nice "drill sound" but everytime i close it back it does the "clicking sound"

so help out...

Check motor connections, check the fuse... and you said something about positive and negitive, what happened to your battery's connecter? If you build this battery like I did... check it too.

Clicking means gun can't turn over. Either there's a problem 1. electrically: your battery just had enough juice to shoot a couple of times, your motor's friend...; or 2. mechanically: your mechbox is siezed.

oh well i possibly put the red wire into the black receiver and the black into red ... but not sure... so sometimes that might cause a short circuit !

Did your gun stop working immediately after you switched the connection?

Do NOT run it anymore. Stop NOW. The motor sounds fine, but the mech sounds seized. If you continue, you may ruin your gears.

Bring it to a gun doctor. NOW.

try a bigger battery. sounds like your's doesn't deliver enough current to start the motor under load (spring partially compressed). 9.6v 1000mah is too small for that gun. you should be using at least a 1700 mah battery or even bigger. if a larger battery won't turn it over, then the odds are your mechbox is seized up, but not likely. the sector gear and/or piston would have given way if that's the case, however you won't know for sure until you try a bigger battery. there are very few m4 variants that will run on a battery that small, but your gun isn't one of them.

yeah but my gun comes with a small connector meaning it cant run on big batteries unless i get a small to large connector ! soo im sure the battery isnt the problem because if it was they would have made that gun with a larger connector for bigger batteries... *SIGH*

my ics uses small connector and i have a 9.6v 1700 mah battery for it. i have a 9.6v 1700 mah nunchuck for an m4 with small connector. they're out there. connector size does not necessarily denote battery size. bigger contact points are always better, but not always available.

trust me try a battery first. borrow one if you need to. i've seen this problem so many times when guys say "but it doesn't work. it's broke" and i plug in a bigger battery and it runs fine. i hate to have to charge them money for that.

well then lets hope so... i thought a 9.6v battery would do the trick... oh well... what would happen if a big connector was forced inside a small one ?

Any wiring laying around? Just shove some in... make sure you get the polarity and do not let the wires touch... best to get insulated wires or alot of electrical tape. That's basically what I do. A temporary fix, but your connecters aren't wrecked then.
