how to instal a mag catch on a Glock.

ok, i think the problems with my used fixeruper glock are due to the mags sitting loosly in the mag well. so i orderd a steel mag catch. i dont have it yet, but i cant figure out how to take out the old one.
so im just wondering if some one can shed some light on how to take out and install the mag catch.
oh, and the gun is a KWA/KSC Glock 18C.

thanks,
Joe

Push and hold the mag catch in, then with your other hand stick in a good solid flat head screw driver and pry it out, it's as big pain in the ass to remove, it just takes time and wiggling in. From there, its quite easy to press the spring back in.

like ^ said. you may also have to file the end of the spring. just a little...to get it to work with the new mag catch.

hmm, this sucks. now my gun just stoped working.
so, what the problem is that when i pull the trigger, the hammer wont drop. the trigger is limp, but is fully extended.
any one want to buy a POS not working G18C for spare parts? :-D
if any one knows how fix this, please let me know.

do you have a metal slide installed by any chance?
the gun wont fire if the slide is not completely forward
hopefully just pushing the slide forward that extra mm makes it work

ya i noticed the thing with the slide before so i didnt think it was a big deal when it did it this time, but that dosnt seem to be the problem. and no, it dosnt have a metal slide on it. i think ill just make it work, sell it, and buy a new KSC G17

Get a KSC Glock 19, you'll be happier with it than the G17. More reliable by far, heavier (even when stock) and shoots awesome! And, it'll take any Glock mag that KSC makes.

Gotta second the Glock 19. I have owned an 18c, 17 and a couple 19's. The 19 is by far my fave glock for every reason. Get a japanese version one, they're a little nicer.

With it field stripped, as in no slide on the pistol, does the hammer function?

no, the hammer is not functioning.
i think i broke somthing in it dry fireing it. i didnt know how bad that was.
any way, i do like the KWA g19, so the KSC im sure is nicer.
i do like the biggernes (if thats a word) of the G17 thoug, but i probably will get a 19. and a hip holster so i can still cary the DE
any who, can i still use the same mag catch and the same hammer spring?
I gues ill have to sell my upgraded recoil spring. oh well.
