Picatinny rails

Hi everyone, I am still kind of new to the forums. Anyways, I currently own a stock Tm M-16 and connot justify buying an RIS syastem for it. The other day I came across picatinny rails and they seemed like a good, cheaper alternative to RIS. I just had a couple question sconcerning them.

1. Are they rails stury enough to mount somthing like a M203?
2. Are they worth buying or should I just start saving for the RIS?

I'll assume these ones attach into the holes in your foregrip?

If so, I've heard they aint all that strong and have snapped off of peoples guns before. (Used with a foregrip.)

RIS is always the stronger more reliable alternative.

Just my 2 cents on that.

I use that kind of set up(vert grip on rail), and as long as you tighten the bolts enough, they should be good. though i have no experience with M203s like that, im sure it would work as long as you are careful. or you could buy the kit for the M16/M203 combo. heres a link http://www.doubleedgeairsoft.com/pro...aeg.php?type=6, there are 2 kits at the bottom.

Is nt the pic rail and a RIS the same thing ? I understand a RIS is just a pic rail intergrated on the fore end that is an aftermarket item. And the pic is just the rail you secure on a stock rifle or side arm.

A RIS is a very firmly mounted array of rails. The difference in stability compared to a rail bolted onto a plastic handguard is immense.

I've got a C33 grip. (Rails integrated into a plastic foregrip). I've tried mounting a vert grip on it, and it's not that stable, and I believe exacerbates my barrel wobble problem. Get an RIS.
