Tanka M24 SWS gas problem

Hey all,

I’d like to thank all you guys in advance for trying to help me. Any who here’s the problem...

I got a Tanka m24 a while ago used. Since I’ve made this purchase the gun has not been up to par. The only way it shoots kind of good is when I assist the bolt in with my thumb while firing. It seems there is not enough gas getting to the bbs and the spring is not strong enough to hit the mag and release the gas the way it should. I’ve done some research on WGC and I found a "striker spring" I think maybe if I get this it will hit the mag harder? I’m just wondering if it's worth investing time and money into this gun because if I get something I’d go all out (new bolt/ tight bore…)

At first I though it was the mag because it was so beat up, so.... I bough a brand spanking new one but it did not change anything. I love this gun I just want it to shoot the way it should.

Any advice or anything would be much appreciated. I can take pics of any part of the gun if any of you guys want to check something out to see if it could be the problem.

Thanks,
Craig

Your seals might be old, G&G makes a good upgrade part for that and its cheap. Otherwise I dont see what could be the problem.

try lubing the output valve on your mag? If it applies, do you have more then one mag, and does it happen with all of them?

Yes, I have 2 mags. I've tried the lube job on my old mag and applied a tad to the new one I just purchased. They both make the gun shoot the same which leads me to think it's something in the bolt. Ill try to get some pics up tonight so you guys can compare mine to yours to see if there is any differences. thanks again all.

Alright so I’ve found the problem, but have no clue how to fix it. I also put pics up http://www.pbase.com/keg057/root&view=recent So the problem is that the thing that hits the mag to release the gas found in pic 000_0883.jpg does not move when the gun is fired (or it moves very little) in pic 000_0888.jpg you can see that it is all the way out. You can also notice my bolt is quite warn, should that be replaced also? Any help would be appreciated, really want to get this thing working.

Thanks,
Craig

Maybe your rifle is just dirty, have you tried stripping it and clean it toroughtly? My firing pin (your piece that doesnt move) get sticky when full of dirty espaciallu sand.

I haven’t cleaned it thoroughly, only lubed a few areas. The firing pin seems to move clean when I push it with my finger, no drag at all.
