Maruzen P99 problems

I've posted this before, and I'll try again to see if anyone missed it and can help me.

My P99 is having problems firing. The slide wont slide back all the way, allowing the BB's to cycle, and sometimes the slide will straight up get stuck 1/2 way through kicking back. I've taken the slide off and cleaned it up, looked over everything and it seems fine. I saw no cracks, no broken parts and the slide is in fine shape.

Currently I am using green gas (yeah, stupid, but it's all my retailer had and he's too far away to wait). Could it be the gas? Could the slide be getting caught on something? When I manually pull the slide back, I can feel a point of resistance which seems to lie somewhere in the internal hammer... but that's speculation.

any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Have you tried filling your mags with duster? If the lack of an adapter is stopping you, you can use the one that comes with the can. Here is a vid I shot for a newbie a while ago showing him how to fill a Glock 19 mag, and fire his gun. Its the same basic idea for any pistol mag.
http://ahl.telefragged.com/ace12ga/airsoft/glock19.wmv

The fellows duster in the yellow can is probably the best source of HFC134a, tetrafluoroethane; you want to avoid difluoroethane, as its been known to cause damage to seals. Any can of duster that is tetrafluoroethane will work. Add a single drop of silicone oil to the fill valve before filling, and you're good.

The mag catch thing happens on Glocks too (causing similar problems). The best way to check for it is holding the mag up with your hand when you fire. If your problem goes away, then you need a new mag catch.

With a mag in the gun, can you recreate the slide getting stuck halfway by manually cycling the slide? A last note, the only maruzen I have ever owned was the MP5K, but it has a similar problem when used with green gas. It gets jammed, as well as not cycling properly.

which particular model of P99 do you have? I don't think using greengas in them is stupid at all. If you examine the slide (at least on my Tac3 version), it has complete metal reinforcing where it slides along the frame, including the slidestop. i use mine on greengas all the time without any problems.

Maruzen guns are designed to operate on HFC134a, plain and simple. Yes they will work, for a time, on propane; however, they will fail prematurely running on propane/green. Just something to keep in mind.
