i know a local tactical store here in Winnipeg had issues importing their blue display pistols. I don't remember how long customs held them for but it was a while

if you can find them in Canada, i suggest you jump on that

yeah no clue about training guns but should not be a problem.

I need to take a look into it since I need some in the future.

Well contact MD Charlton sales@mdcharlton.ca and see what they have in stock. They might do custom order since I know ASP have the m4 with rail and sliding stock. Cost around 110-140 bucks.

Good store but I only deal with them on the western part of Canada but shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, blueguns are legal to import, bus as for clearsoft, some retarded/overzealous CBSA agent might not allow them in.

Usually, they do not have any working part at all, IE if it has a retractable stock, it will be molded in extended or retracted position... not adjustable by the end user (it also means that you can't install, say a Crane on a gun which comes with a LE, you'll have to buy a new bluegun). Same thing for mags, they are molded in and you can't remove them. You can't change the handguard or pistol grip. Etc... They have absolutely no "working" part at all.

For your purpose, I'd highly suggest getting this (though it's now out of stock) and painting it blue:

That's an early gen JG M4A1, so if you want to change the stock, it will be easy. You'll also be able to install a RIS if you need it to display a taclight or grip in your pics, or whatever else you could need.

"Blue Guns" training weapons are illegal in Canada unless you are a business licensed to train law enforcement officers & security...

I was trained in disarming people with firearms, using "blue gun" training weapons, and recently attempted to order one to practice on my own, I was informed by the RCMP that they are illegal...

I am planning to take this matter up with my Member of Parliament as there are toy guns that shoot BBs that look more like real guns that are legally sold in Canada...

I can let you know what they say, if you wish...

Would not be the first time that the RCMP was wrong..

they are imitation firearms and 100% legal to own buy and sell.

and freely available at several Canadian retailers

There's a good chance that a lot of things are not a good Idea for Scott_911
Like joining a Airsoft Forum and Necro a 3 year dormant thread that's letting us know he's writing his MP?!

+1, and I'd be pissed if some random dude was running round an event attempting to disarm me and my buddies.

An mp is not going to know anything about firearm related law. The mp will call your local police department. The local police department will tell you it's fine as long as you don't brandish or hold it out as a weapon. It is not a weapon unless you pistol whip someone with it (blunt force). It's not capable of firing and there is no moving parts. That doesn't change whatever colour it may be. Although I would not recommend practicing holstering and unholstering in public. You would look ridiculous.
