dammit, gun wont fire

My TM SIG 552 is having problems. It fires for about 10 shots, and then just completely dies. I can pull the trigger and hear a little sound like the motor's trying to work, but isn't. I don't know if its a fuse, or if the batterys are overcharged (if you can do that) but when I take the batts out, they are usually pretty warm.

If anyone knows what it could be, help is greatly appreciated. If its a fuse or something, does anyone know where to access the fuse on a TM SIG 552?

It's killin me! please help!!

Were you firing on semi-auto rapidly?

If so, the gear's may not have fully cycled before trying to cycle again, causing the gear's or iirc, the anti-reversal latch to jam.

It can be rather tedious to get that latch to let go, I had to take my gun to a gun doctor to get it done.

Hope you have a gun tech in your area.

If I am in anyway incorrect, Everyone feel free to correct me.

It's been over a year since I owned a Sig 552, But IIRC, the fuse is stored in where your battery goes.

But ya, do as Damage said and charge your battery up completely then try firing the gun.

If you blew the fuse, the motor would not try to crank or anything.

Your fuse is fine.

I don't recall firing rapidly on semi-auto. I just switch to auto for that. It seems as though it drains my batts in the span of about 40 shots. If I take it out to recharge, the battery needs to be fully recharded.

The gun is used, but in good shape. 1 thing I noticed though. Is there supposed to be a fuse underneith the bottom foregrip? It seems there's a spot for it (little clips and tape), but on my gun, the clips were just taped together.

I'd have to take a bit of a ride to find a gun doctor. If it keeps up I guess i'll have no choice.

Yes, the fuse should be right in the foregrip there.

If you can, charge your battery enough so you can cycle the gun & let off the pressure on the spring. You NEVER want to leave your spring compressed.

Just fire the gun twice on semi-auto to decompress the spring.

Im not filmiliar with the SIG 552 but I had a similar problem with my mp5 sd5 so I'll tell you how I fixed it. look at the bottom of the pistol grip (look for a little hole that you could fit an allen key in) now take an allen key and stick it in the hole and turn it up or down (this will adjust the morter so the gears on the morter will mach the gears inside the mechbox)

Try that and see what happens (If you need me to explain it better just send me a pm)

Okay, so before I take this to my nearest "gun doctor"... I just want some advice.

My gun fires fine on semi-auto. I can go hours on 1 batt and no problems at all. When I put that baby on Full-auto, it either goes dead after about 4 shots, or locks up. Either way, the battery needs a full recharge and the gun is put to rest for the time being.

Why, OH WHY, does my gun fire fine on semi-auto, but cop out on full-auto?
Has anyone experienced this?

I'm about to find a local doctor and see what they can do, but if its something simple... no need.

Anyone have any ideas??

I'm no expert on AEG's, but this is my diagnosis based on your symptoms.

It fires well and long on Semi, but seems to drain the battery after 4 when on Full Auto.

I figure one of two things are possible:

1: When you switch it to Full Auto the movement of the fire selector switch is shorting/grounding the battery (via pinched wire or something) on the mechbox' metal and discharging the battery almost instantly.

2: When you switch to Full Auto the movement of the fire selector switch puts pressure on the internals and wears the battery down quickly.

2 seems unlikely unless you are noticing a drop in FPS/distance. Friction will make a noticable difference in this area.

My bet is one. Something is draining the battery when you throw it into Auto

Blackthorne, I haven't noticed any change in FPS or distance/accuracy. And #1 seems almost accurate, except I can switch my gun onto full auto for as long as a please without any draining of the battery... its only when I fire that all goes to hell.

Thanks though. I'm confident that something on the full-auto side of things is shorting/discharging my battery. It sounds like a job for an expert.
