Looking for a good P90 vest

Hi
I was wondering if anyone knows where you can find a good P90 vest online. I'm looking for the blackhawk medic vest type. I guess its the kind used on Stargate. If anyone know of a good source let me know.
Many thanks

For P90 vest, your pretty much stuck with modular vest as a base and P90/UMP mag pouchs on molle.

It's now easyer to find P90 mag compatible pouchs. I had to have made on a custom job for me 4 years ago.

Forget about the stargate setup. They don't carry spare mags for read. When you see them swap mag, they take them out of the vest from under it, like if it was in an inside pocket... Not realistic or practical at all.

Some of my teamate use double or tripple AK mag pouchs to fit their P90 mags, but that setup is builky and it wobble a lot.

This is my setup. All custom made. Except for the green P90 mag pouchs.

On my black SWAT rig. (I'm on the left)

+1 To what fox has to say.

My load for P90 is based on the German WW2 rigging for MP40. You can find pictures of the loadout on the net or on the WW2 section of ASC. I used these products:

45 Degree panel
Double Mag pouch
Shoulder Rig
+ a duty belt.

You are pretty much SOL for a complete vest solution. I did see a CHICOM style angled chest rig for P90 but it was for carrying mags only and it isn't modular.

I recommend you spend 10 dollars and buy ONE mag pouch for P90 from ebanned and try and figure out how you can mount the mag onto a molle rig so it works for you before you buy a pile of nylon you won't use. If you have a different body type you won't be able to do what Fox has done for drawing mags on his rig. Advantage of his rig is that he may be able to put empties back into his pouches. Pointing the mag pouch down means you may not be able pull the mag out if you are squatting or prone, and reinserting the mag is a bitch.

Drop legs seemed like a good idea but P90 mag is rather long.

EDIT:

Fox who made your pouches?

The green pouches are made by Pantac. The black one are the custom made one, by Tiger Tactical. My whole rig is made by Tiger Tactical, using my desings.
It's a CQB specific body armor that accept kevlar and rifle plates (SAPI). The main feature of this setup is that it's reversible to have both a black and OD rig.

The Pantac pouchs are not THAT great. They are too tall on the side, making mag changes hard and slow. I would have left more of the mags stick out under the closing flap. Maybe securing them with a little elastic on the side. My Black mag pouches, on the contrary, are not tall enough on the sides, allowing the mag to slip out of the pouch when crawling and twisting hard on the ground. But the main setup is designed for CQB where you are not supposed to crawl a lot.

I'd recommand going against bottom openning pouches for P90 mags. Unless you have a large dump pouch, wich is not very practical for this weapon systeme, you won't be able to rotate your empty mags back to the pouches.

I'm also not a big fan of angled P90 mag pouches. It take too much space on your rig and limite you severely on the amount of mags you can carry. On my rig, I have 4 on my chest. If I had double mag pouches, I'd be able to fit 8. But I wanted a low profile. Since running plates with thick mags on top make it hard to squeeze in tight spots.

Leg rigs are great for CQB, but not very fast. I used one as a last resort and it was OK with me. I prefer to keep my legs free to be more mobile. In CQB, mobility and agression is key. The P90 is not a very suitable weapon for CQB, since the mag changes are slow, so you better compensate somewhere.

Thanks for the info Fox!

Have you considered running an additional 4 mags on your rig using angled pouches? Although I am not a fan of cumberbund style chest rigs I really like your setup. I may try something similar with a Rhodesian style chest rig.

I like how your system completely eliminates the need for a dump pouch. I use the rolly polly as a backup but I prefer reinserting my mags into my pouchs. If I can carry 1 less thing on me then that is good.

I absolutely agree with you on the P90 NOT being a good CQB weapon. Mag changes are indeed a slow process compared to every other weapon system. I have found that instead of performing a mag change I simple drop the weapon and transition to secondary to maintain momentum. It's why My P90 is wearing the Silencer and extended inner barrel for field games.

That's funny. I don't think that's Darklen, I believe that is Oborous, and we have forever immortalized a wombsofter.

Angled P90 mag pouch take too much room. Even if I had them under my arms kinda, it would stick out either at the front or at the back and snag all over.
I'd prefer the added thickness of double magpouchs over angled magpouchs.

I just received my LBT 9040 (RRV) and I found that I can't put 4 P90 magpouches side by side on the front. It only fit 3. The other one is offset to the side and stick out at the bottom or top of the rig, wich is a big no-no. It will interfer with either the 1st line (belt) or arm movements.
I will have to think of another way. I'm swarmed by work and university, I don't have the time yet to arrange my setup. Anyway, the RRV will be used for my futur M4.

Back to P90, If I want to carry more mags, Going with a dropleg is the only way to go if your regular vest is full. The mags are so large and long, they can't be managed like regular rifle mags. For field use, I'd stick with 4 or 8 (double pouchs) on my vest and as last resort, 2 or 4 on a dropleg. Maybe 4 on the leg is streching it a bit... You will walk in circle with all that bulk there! hehe.
