AEG Feeding issues

Hello

My AEG is having some feeding issues, mostly on full auto. Semi seems pretty much fine, but when I switch to full auto, the misfeeds are like, 80%. I'm not sure what to do, as I used both of my mags, both lowcaps I believe, and they were both unreliable on full automatic. I decided to turn my AEG upside down and let gravity feed ammo into the gun, but that was quite unreliable.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me?

Mags I'm not too sure about, its been too long. If it helps, under teh kal. 5.56mmx45 it says "id". I think its a lowcap because it holds about 60 rounds, but even though it's opaque, I think I can see part of the S shape you see on midcaps.

BB's are ancient, 3 year old G&P black, the bag said 5.95mm

Flip your gun upside down and drop a coouple drops of silicon oil down your feed tube, then dry fire a couple times. Should feed fine after that, run through a couple mags of BBs, then clean your barrel well. Common problem, hop up rubber gets sticky and prevents BBs from passing through the breech.

Alright thanks, I'll try that. I was intending on doing that, but people were telling me that it was best not to lubricate the hop up rubber or the barrel.

Also, hop up rubber getting sticky, it's a new rubber, so are you sure?

Hell ya, new rubber needs lube as part of the installation, and for reliable feeding. The lube will wear off the bucking (the part that the BB makes contact with for backspin) after a few mags, and that's the way you'd like to keep it (as per what others say), but that is where I shit on others and say to lube it if it starts misfeeding or plugging, what they say can actually damage parts inside the mechbox.

Here's the jist: BBs tend to come packaged with a thin coating of oil for feeding properly in AEGs. When fed, each gets pushed through the breech part of the rubber (the part that makes the seal with the nozzle), then come to rest against the hop up bucking. The hop up bucking you need as little lube as possible on, but the breech you need lube on or else the BBs can't pass through there. As you said, your BBs are old, so maybe they would feed fine with newer BBs. Dunno, but you can't go wrong with a couple drops of oil down your loading tube every 6 months to a year (more if you play in sandy areas regularly) to keep feeding issues to a minimum. I've fixed dozens of players/rental guns during game day that weren't feeding, all it took was pushing the stuck BB out, a couple drops of oil in the breech, and every one worked fine after.

Nutshell, proper gun maintainance for feeding comes far before little tweaks for improved accuracy. New rubber, oil it, let it work in, then follow a basic maintainance schedule as per the timelines I laid out above.

also its good to lube the mags once in a while as well to keep them feeding good..

side note are your mags snug in the mag well? I had a similar issue and it was from mags not siting just right in the mag well. Would shoot good on semi but I guess the vibrations from full would make the mags feed like crap.

At first I put some tape on the mags to make them more snug, but then switched to a piece of loop section velcro on the mag well and fixed all my problems

My gun is feeding properly now. It just took some lube in the mags and the hop up rubber.

I might try this too, BN rubbers wouldn't feed well, even in semi. I've got these Mad Bull Shark Hop-up Bucking. Could it be caused by the "Shark Fins" ?
