First pic of my "ghillie" suit

I only managed to get one pic out of these batteries before they died on me (friggin' digital cameras).

It's made out of the nylon/rubber/netting camo nets you can buy at any hunting goods store, with a little bit of marpat and cadpat thrown in for good measure. The 'base' underneath is just the only olive green clothing I own (so far.)

I'll try to grab some 'close up' shots so you can see what I'm talking about.

This isn't really a ghillie suit, it's just some of that netting thrown over my shoulders and looped around my head/arms.

But I'm planning to sew this on to some BDUs at some point, and tie on some burlap and jute scrim as well.

There's your answer. Its not really a ghillie, and it doesn't look like a ghillie.

My question to you is: would you go to 'war' with it?

I have that same net up on my wall, it's plastic and russles like mad when you move it.

most likely not the most wise choice.

Yeah, bad idea. Point taken.

I was hoping to find a better alternative to the jute and burlap that sheds like dead cat. lol.

I wasn't really worried about the rustle; it was getting the stuff snagged on branches and stuff - I think that's really what'd make it unusable.

Oh, well.

If you call it a ghilliesuit, then its a ghilliesuit.

The first one is allways the hard one, specially if you go puplic with it, like now. I'm looking forward to see you next project :salute: 8)

If it were me, I'd put a garbage bag over my head and cut two little holes out for my eyes. For you sir, you have obviously put time into this and I congratulate on it. Keep up the good work man!

No, what you do is, you soak yourself in glue and roll around in your surrounding area for awhile and wait to dry .

I tried this aproach as a kid. I just hated the smell of that net and dumper the whole thing in a big trash bag. I now use it to cover my shit in milsims.

It's not practical at all when used as a ghillie since it catch on everything, smell like cheap plastic and is really not conceiling yourself verygood.

Good try though.

One guy I know when with this aproach, but in a different way.

Sorry for the large size.
It's kinda effective and look ok.
I like the idea for a quick ghillie.

That might work, why don't you cut out a large strip of grass then strap it to yourself so you don’t make as much of a mess

ps, this is a joke

You might want to look into a "leshij" suit. I looks to be a similar premise to your ... contraption.
