I actually owned this rifle as a cheap prop.

The BBs are stocked in the fake scope. Shoots under 200fps with .20, hopup is mediocre. Uses a cheap 7.2 battery in the fake magazine, connected with a stupidly thin wire so the trigger response and firerate is horrible.

Rewired it to deans for fun, and it sits in a trash bag until I dispose of it...

Yeah, it sucks.

You're age verified. The cream of the crop is available to you from the classifieds here. Don't even look at that stuff.

K3,this is not the same gun
this has the same 8.4v stick battery as my AK47
remove the metal cover on top and battery is in there
ammo is stored in a high cap magazine like other airsofts, not in a fake scope

i had ordered the gun before posting here because it was last one in stock and discontinued
i figured worse case, hang it on the wall
played around with it now that it's here
was fun, well considering i know nothing about airsofts and never used a high end gun
i just had to dress it up
added laser, flashlight and scope to give it a more aggressive look, not that it needed it
lol
someday, i hope to get an SVD dragunov bolt action(not aeg)

It doesn't look anything close to a AK-74. It has the AK-47 milled reciever, it's a clone of the Tokyo marui beta spetz which is a mismatch of cutdown stubby AK with a milled receiver.

Maybe it's based off some Kyberpass AK made in Pakistan :P

Of course being a cheap chinese made LPEG rebranded by crosman it has a all plastic construction with a aluminum folding stock or some models have the fixed plastic AK-47 stock. It uses a polymer V3 gearbox.

You can get the same one made of metal pretty cheap on ASC, it's the black sheep of the AK variants, even cheaper then the classic full stock AK-47.

Personally It's a bad ideal to mount optics on the dustcover you will never hold zero unless you have a specialty dustcover. You could get it up to a okish gun with a new hopup and drop in V3 metal mechbox. My Experience with TM style underfolder stocks have been pretty bad so I'd avoid use of the folding stock :P

If you are really really crazy a SRC metal body could be installed, but you are better off buying a new gun.

BTW what distance is that grouping it's horrible :X

i was about 50 feet
i'm about as noob as you can get when it comes to airsoft
looking at it, i figured AK 74 by the look above the barrel
squared off
i know nothing
i just liked the russian look
lol
not planning any mods to it
just going to use for targets, not compete
as far as i'm concerned, i'm not ready
with a super tight budget,i have to settle for the lower end guns
someday, i'll be able to get one real good one
wish i had the spring king arms SVD to go with this one and my anniversary Ak47

Don't be discourage, my budget sucked when I started. All I had was a AK-47 and a Chinese chestrig. That AK lasted me 3 years and got the reputation locally the AK that won't die (Mainly due to Jerry rigging). In Fact it's still serving me as a RPK style AK.

There are plenty of spare parts and know how available to keep a the standard Tokyo marui style AK running.

Don't bother with a spring SVD if your budget is low, AEG one is more fun :P

Save that money instead you could make your AK a descent field gun. New hopup chamber, rubber and tight bore barrel, Lithium polymer 7.4v batteries.

Better compression and shimming, set of reliable Metal/Plastic Mid capacity magazines a Canvas AK sling (best bang for money)

i don't want to alter the anniversary ak47
these 2 will be more display
i do want to compete someday and would like a decent AK47 for that
like you said, upgrades etc
reason i'm looking at the spring SVD and not the AEG with semi/auto is the precision slow firing of a sniper
want to upgrade it to run with a CO2
the AEG, i agree can be fun for fast shooting
wouldn't an AK47 do the same?
i was thinking one shot, one kill using .30 or heavier BBs
i am just learning, discovered i have more of a preference to russian style guns
would be nice if i had 1 each basic type of russian gun on my wall

You're right, I was thinking R71, another rifle in the Pulse lineup.

I do happen to skip details sometimes, when I have the attention span of a potato.

Nothing wrong with the Russian style, however Russian style is more aggressive closer range combat. They prefer maneuver warfare over long range rifle duels.

AEG gas SVD is are semi auto rifles. SVD is not a sniper rifle it is a Designated marksman rifle used to give a squad a tad more reach. Airsoft being airsoft a C02/spring rifle has a low rate of fire and not that much more range and accuracy. They all shoot the same 6mm caseless ammunition anyways. A SVD also has a longer profile when you are prone because of the shorter magazine :P

Most new players and I have done it myself will get a sniper rifle only to sell it. At the end of the maximum effective range of a airsoft sniper rifle, the kinetic energy on the bb is so light sometimes people don't feel it. So sometimes one shot one kill does not apply.

Airsoft in some ways is very different from real life combat. I could in theory easily accurize my RPK and snipe with it too. I could mount a scope on my AK-74 and say I'm a DMR. But I don't I respect the fact the squad DMR carries a longer rifle, spends more money on a good hopup, tightbore and heavy bbs.

A good sniper is more about concealment, camo, situation awareness. Most of ASC will agree with me play as a rifleman for a few years get some combat experience under your belt. Then decide if DMR/Sniper is still something you want to do.

thanks for your feedback
it seems, i have a tendency to buy guns just by the look of them
if i like the look, i want it
as is, i have too many pistols(all CO2 steel BB)
i'll never be able to use them in these wargames
the SVD dragunov is very high on my want list
its a russian and will be my 3rd russian rifle
