P99 cocking problem

Hey,

I just got this P99 and when I pull the slide back it doesn't cock the hammer. I've tried to cock it numberous times, but when I pull the trigger after I cock it I don't hear or feel anything.

I would also like to know how to remover the slide as well.

I own a gas version of this gun.

THanks,
Vince

What company is your gun from? Is it a Non Blow Back?

Most P99's are DA only.

Does anyone know how to take the slide off, maybe I can fix it, if I could get the slide off.

Thanks,
Vince

Is the gun plastic or metal? Try looking for review of p99s to find out how to remove the slide. search "justpistols" in google and go to that site and check if your guns there.

Ok i think this is how you do it
1. Make sure the gun is cocked and the hammer is down
2. Take the mag out
3. Theres a little slidie thing above the trigger and if you pull that down(maybe on both sides, the slide should come off the gun.

for some reason this gun doesn't need to be cocked to fire, so basically you just put in a new mag and start firing, you don't need to cock the slide to engage the hammer.

I hope this helps?

What type of gas are you using? Propane?
When you take the mag out and pull the trigger does anything happen?

DA == Double Action

The hammer will not cock no matter what you do, it doesn't cock. With a Double Action action, when you pull the trigger it cocks the hammer, and releases the hammer, firing the pistol. P99's work like that.

In short, there is nothing wrong with your pistol. Somebody correct me if I am wrong here, but the P99 I owned was a DA only. I understrand maruzen's are DA only as well.

It's the one I have for sale in the buy+ sell. I believe it's KWC. It's a GBB. It has no exposed hammer, so of course you're not going to see the hammer move. I believe the problem may be user unfamiliarity with the peice - in any case I've offered him a full refund if he's not satisfied. I've advised him that the gun has not been used on propane, it's only ever run duster...the valve probably will not even open under the pressure of propane.

As an added comment, I never opened it up in the short time it was in my possession. I fired a half-mag of bb's through to ensure it worked, and it worked fine. I don't even know how to get the slide off, so I can't offer any advice on how to open it up or get the slide off.

the maruzen one is DA but there is the little pin that will stick out when it's "cocked"...the pin has a red dot on the end and will disappear when decocked via decocking button on top of the slide or fired without mag present. as long as it still fires you're doing ok. my maruzen loves propane but if it's a kwc i have nothing to say there.

The hammer pin on the KWC does not move - it's just part of the slide and there for show. The KWC also does not have a decocking lever.

Google "Double Action Only" and do some reading. Its supposed to work the way you're describing.
