There was some durability issues that were present during the testing of the 2.1B and 2.1C (macaw and conure). There are some small changes I can make, but ultimately, I don't think the hollow nubs will hold up to the repeated impacts. I am replacing the hollow nubs with an angled nub, and I will have some preliminary results in the next few days. Hopefully I can make the changes in time, but there may be a delay of a few days.

I made a video this morning testing the hawk. There was 4-5 fliers, and some deviation. I was about to do a grouping test, but my motor pooped out. I need to figure out the cause of the deviation, but right now I think that it is because the nub is angled, it is able to rotate within the arm. I'll do groupings and test the flat nub tomorrow. The wall was ~200 ft away.

2.2E-F
I'm going to try to include this in the release along with the 2.1 nubs and the 1.1 arm. One is an extended H-nub and the other is a modified H-nub, in which the "bridge" on the H is changing. (you can think of it as a 2.1D sandwiched inbetween two 2.1A's).

The first set of nubs are curing, and a few prototype arms are cut. I will have the unkeyed 2.1A/D and the keyed 2.2E/F done by tomorrow, and we'll see how the new rubber behaves.
Here's one of the arms. I might have to play with dimensions a little bit to get the spring upright, but it's more cosmetics than anything else. I'll test them tomorrow and send out the prototypes on Monday. I'm also doing a little promotion to help expand the line of hopup arms. Here is an excerpt from the facebook wall: The test set of hopup arms has been cut, the molds are being cut, and I'm working on expanding my line of hopup arms past the m4. That means that the first two people from each arm type (AK, G3, 249, MP5, P90, Masada, SCAR or any hopup with an "arm" [the m14, g36, etc have tiny little stubs that I can't do much with]) to post a high res scan, will receive their choice of a 2.2 nub (Monarch/Emperor) with their order. (high res is >1200dpi). Pictures are not terribly helpful, so they will not be accepted. |

I'm going to get the molds cut professionally, which means that the nubs are going to be delayed ~2 more weeks (March 12). Using materials available to me weren't rigid enough, which led to poor quality of the 2.2's.

Saturday, March 10: First half of nubs are completed and qc'd Sunday, March 11: Second half of nubs are completed and qc'd Sunday Night, March 11: 1.1A Arms are cut=>>Go/No Go Monday, March 12: Tentative ship date Monday, March 19: "Rain Check" Here is a sneak peak. |

I've been a bit busy lately, but I've made a new website and now have a subforum over at airsoftmechanics.
https://sites.google.com/site/airsoftprecisiondynamics/ Here's some of my latest projects: This is my Linear Adjustment Insert: Unlike any current design I am aware of, the "arm" will not rotate, which means that a flat hop at one setting will remain a flat hop at any other setting. |
