Thumbs down AK fires then....NOTHING

Well i bought a brand new Dboys AK74 full stock metal body, off of haung a few weeks ago. took it out to 2 games this weekend, and started to shoot, got the hopup measured in shoots like a dream when suddenly in the most inoportune times it just stops firing. at first i thought it was the famour "selector switch glitch" it wasn't i tried switching it through every mode, safe, full, semi. nothing.

upon putting the grip to my ear and listening to the motor, you can hear the motor attempting to turn over but nothing....

i found a reasoanable fix, but it only works for a short period of time (700 rounds or so....)

I detach the grip then detach the motor cage, re attach it, and it magically works.

it makes no sense to me.... if i works once i re-attach it shouldn't it work all the time?

please help

Loose wire on the motor probably. Check for pinching or frayed wiring especially near the motor end bell.

What size and type of battery are you using?
Sounds like the battery is dead and that gun comes upgraded for 400FPS, I believe.

A low quality 8.4 battery is not going to last that long in the cold or sometimes have enough strength to crank over a "half" compressed 400 fps spring. I bet if I hooked a bigger battery to the gun when it was jammed as you stated, it would probably pull the spring and fire. Taking off the motor releases the pressure and allows a weaker battery to then start working again until the gun stops in "half cock" where it jams.

Try a good proven battery at least 9.6v and see if you encounter the same problem.

This happened to me years ago and it was all in the battery not the gun.

Sounds like it's a combination of motor height being too tight and a shitty battery..

adjust your motor height to the proper height and get a better battery

700 rounds for a chinese 1100mAh battery sounds about right...

There's nothing wrong with your gun, you're just out of power.

We tried it Saturday with my 9.6 2200 as well.

My battery worked fine in mine, and not in his when it failed.

Could be anything from bad wiring to crappy shimming, to bad battery connection or bent motor cage or bad motor height, or a bunch of other things.

Take it to a good gundoctor to look at.
