wiring problem? or battery

ok... i recently changed the spring on my ak47s and another problem came up... my fuses start to burn out. i've gone through 2 and now the gun doesn't even fire... the fuses just burn after a while.. and my batteries get warm/hot. any suggestions? thanks..

What spring and what battery?

A fuse burning out leads me to believe you have too small a battery for the spring you're trying to pull.

its a m110 spring and a 8.4V battery. The charger doesn't even charge the battery anymore so it might be FUBAR.. but it doesn't make sense how a weak battery can burn out a fuse..

Because the motor is trying to pull more power from the battery than the fuse will allow, and the motor is not turning over so it keeps a constant too high drain on the battery, blowing the fuse.

had the same problem with my AK, make sure your wires and all metal electrical connections are properly aligned , I had a short develop when some electrical components were touching the AK metal frame, hot batts and blown fuses until I saw a big blue spark when troubleshooting

the problem was caused by a grip that was overly tight. the motor was pushed up a little it. and... took apart the gun..opened up the mechbox and i found this... total disaster.....GG

That mechbox was perfectly fine when I sent it back to the owner, had a healthy fire rate and cycled with the 600 FPS spring using a 8.4V 3000 MAH battery...

However... the motor height adjustment was fucked so I couldn't adjust the motor normally, I had to use squashed metal shims to manually adjust the height... but it appears the owner took the bit of electrical tape.. along with my shims out of there...

What's exactly wrong with this gearbox?

It looks pretty much the same as it did after I built it (if you're talking about the wear on the spur gear, that doesn't effect anything... that's from before I worked on it when it was very poorly built)

It's a good gun, it just needs a new motor cage... Or hell even a new motor cage set screw would do it, and a lower FPS spring.

Well theres your problem, someone went and took all the internals out of your mechbox!
Now in an AK, if the grip is too tight it would actually pull down on your cradle and LOWER your motor.
As for the gears, if teeth aint broken, the gears aint broke. Simple as that.
Infact there's this wonderful thing called work hardening that makes used gears more resistant to teeth breaking off lol

Now your solution is to properly adjust your motor height. Your 400fps spring should being working off an 8.4v large battery or an 8.4v stick battery with torque up gears. Put a 10A or 15A fuse in there. And of course the golden rule of how not to break your gun:
If nothing, or something that sounds bad, happens when you pull the trigger, then DONT keep pulling the trigger

ahaha no jokes... i'm not that trigger happy... the fuse burns itself up without the trigger being pulled. i can see the fuse melting visually =.= anyhow problem solved.. now i just gotta spend more money fixing the internals
