Maruzen APS-2 Problem

Hey everyone, so ive got a problem. I have a stock Maruzen APS-2 SV (not for long)....

And today, i disassembled it, in order to learn about the internals, ect and to be ready and know how to install my new parts once they arrive. Upon reassembly of the outer barrel, i screwed both of the Mag rails(?) onto the outer barrel, and receiver, and started to reattach the outerbarrel, to the receiver. As i finished threading it on, i noticed the two mag "things" do not line up, therefore disallows me to put the whole assembly back into the stock.

No matter how hard i twist, it will not match up, and the only way i've seen so far is to loosen it until they match, but i dont think this is a very smart or reasonable fix.

So has anyone had this problem? Or heard of any fixes?

Thanks!

It is a common problem for the APS2

If it was perfect fit before you disassemble it, try cleaning the thread between the outer barrel and receiver.

If not, loosen until match. Then check how far is the gap.
if it's a small gap just fill in with loctite and use spacer between the stock and outer barrel

if it's a large gap and you have extra space between the mag and mag holder, try carefully sanding the paint off the end of the barrel to allow the outer barrel to complete the last turn to line up. (remember Carefully and do like 0.000001mm at a time) a final tight twist can fix a 5 degree offset.

alright, sweet thanks jasper. I did wipe most of the grease off of all the parts, as i will be waiting for my new parts, and proper grease before using it anyways.

Also, its just even one turn, its the last little bit of the last one, so its very small. But to properly match it, i have to undo it around a whole turn.

so i tried to just leave it as is, and undo it a bit, but then the Whole barrel assembly is loose, and rattles. Any other ideas besides modding it?

The easiest way would be to put some kind of a washer in there so the barrel will be tight when you screw it in as far as you do now. My L96 had a washer in there to begin with that you put in and then screw the out barrel in.

Basically like a plastic ring that is slightly bigger than your piston and almost the same size as the hole where you screw in your outer barrel. You can try something like a plastic bottle cap that will fit in there and your piston will fit into and cut off the top so it's just a tube. Then you just trim it down and sand the sides and inside to fit in nicely and fill your gap.

The only thing I'd caution against when doing this is to give a tiny bit of room on the inside of the ring because once the outer barrel puts pressure on it there may be a chance that it warps a bit and might block your piston. Wish I could show you but I no longer have my L96. Though if you need more help I could try to demonstrate with my m24.

Sand the receiver-end of the barrel.

You will get better result that way if you take your time and do it slowly.

Sorry about not being able to chat last night, you know why, but if this is what you wanted to ask me, I wouldn't have been able to give you any info. Like I said, I have no experience with any rifle past the CA M24 and the KJW M700, only performance related which is common among sniper rifles (ammo, springs, etc.)............... As far as disassembly/assembly, I have nada, have only shot a few rounds through the APS2 and VSR. Good thing you posted your issue on here, much better chance of getting the correct info.

Haha, no problemo CDN, i fixed it with teflon tape anyways! I'd much rather not sand anything down, im not too technically inclined in that area, and wouldn't want to have to buy a new 100$ outer barrel. Teflon tape worked magically!

FIXED!

APS-2 is a spring rifle...

You can find a lot of infos on KJW M700 on google. I had one before and fixed it that way.

Maruzen did make a GAS version of their L96.

I've been on Google believe me.

I need help re-assembling the trigger assembly and the bolt.

All I'm finding is stuff about the spring version.
