If you do try something... Make sure it isn't a real strong acid, or base. I think even something like perfume would be bad for seals.
I personally suggest battery acid - it's not an acid.
Er... Damn, why would you want a gas blow back to smell like perfume anyway?
Unless you're a gun whore, then I fully suggest making your gun smell like a whore.
Ah well, find a nice neutral that smells pretty. Or, hold a lighter at the end of the barrel. Not suggested though.
Do it! Do it now! Blow your house up! You are international! You can't sue me!

Propane smells bad because it's a legal requirement based in safety measures. Pure propane does not smell like anything at all.
Since the normal use for the stuff is heating and cooking, you want it to smell bad in case of a leak. The rest of the reasons should be obvious...

i wonder if some peroxide and baking soda would work drop a few drops in the mag befor a fill. seams mythbusters has shown it will work on the thyals in skunk spray and the nasty smell in propane is synthetic thyals.

I remember the days of using Green Gas or Jet Gas. After a few rounds I would pull the slide open and god DAMN that chamber smelled good. It was addicting, lol.

You just need to deal with the smell you will get used to it but the smell on the gun will go away after a while of no useage. You can also buy green gas same thing as propane but smells a bit less but warning green gas is not regulated by the goverment so the chance of explosion is greater.
