M5A2
I've been playing the new Resistance game, I was wondering what people thought the M5A2 was based on. I'm thinking it was an M14 with a similar stock to a SL8, As well as a M203 R.I.S. anyone else have any idea what it might be?

Looks like a modified BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle). WWII American weapon made by Browning. The FN MAG58 GPMG (M240 in the US, C6 in Canada) uses the same bolt carrier/gas piston system. 7.62x63mm (.30-06 cal).
My 2 cents worth : ) BAR.jpg

I agree with Bowers, I think it was based on the M14 EBR, so how hard does anyone think it would be to make one?

YouTube - m14 ebr now i havent handled a airsoft EBR but if it is cut the same you could see if remingtons new shurshot stock might work not exactly a thumbhole stock and its syntehtic rather then wood but it kinda gives the overall look to it a little found one on cheaperthandirt http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/55030-1.html |

i think if you used the stock from the SL8 it might be more in keeping with the design from the game. also you could house your battery in the back

Actually, upon deep inspection and talks with fellow nerds on RFOM forums....it is an M14 EBR (G&P body kit), L96 Wood stock and a Medium length M203. Although the Zastava P.A.P stock would work better, the L96 stock would be easier to fit to the EBR body kit.
My brother and I are working on a project to reproduce a variant on the M5A2. |
