What did you use as a stencils the her pattern? I have been playing with the idea of doing different hex camos, but am undecided on a method to get it together correctly.

At my local art shop they had a small hex stencil. The other sizes I cut by hand. Printed out a page from photoshop and used an x-acto knife.

Finished up on a team mate's (Disaster_Piece) rifle. Bare bones and simple. Almost forgot to add the "State of Pew" scribble. Tried a slightly different layering effect. Very subtle difference that likely wouldn't be noticed unless pointed out.

I really like the shape of the pattern you used for the darker brown. May I ask what you used to get the pattern?

It was a fabric I just picked up from Fabricland. A fluro green colour (they have pink, yellow and orange aswell).
That rifle was freshly painted, I still have to "wear it in" so it doesn't look so perfectish... |

Hello Painted Gun peeps!
Until now I've never been too interested in painting my primary. Then I saw this (of which I'm sure some of you are tired of hearing me talk about... LOL): Disclaimer: Not my gun & not my picture! :-P Now one thing about me and colour.. I don't see it all that well as I'm partially (PARTIALLY) colour-blind. I was wondering if I could get some of your thoughts as to the best brand & shades to replicate this? Thanks

That there you will need tan, a little green, brown, black and a bit of red.
Red scotch Brite pad and masking tape. It's a simple design, lots of overlap and distressing.

*rust red, rather than just red. That's what I had done for mine and it worked beautifully.
Airbrush is better than cans; for that kind of job you can do it with a $15 Testors airbrush and Testors commpressed air at Walmart, and it allows you to use a much wider variety of colors than the thick can paint.
