I second this!
I used to run AE bb's with the stock inner barrel but I have since switched to the PDI tightbore and I can only run BB Bastards with them...go figure!
Don't even get me started on the Metal (chop) Tech bb's!!!
.25 & .28 are the way to go for me!
What seems to work for one guy doesn't necessarily work for the next !

What exactly are you experiencing with your mag issues? Dry fire?

Not too sure about removing one of the springs...doesn't hurt to experiment!
Just wanted to add that I use a stock TM XL loader and ditched the loading tube a very long time ago...no problems here!

After running .28's in my PTW for a season, my hop rubber wore out, <UNCLASS>int on this subject seems to indicate that one shouldn't run anything heavier than .25 in a PTW<END OF COLLATERAL>... I'll be trying that out this season.

I've run at least 30,000 rounds through my CQB-R, mostly with M130 (about 20K) and M110 (about 10K) and the rubber was still OK when I checked it this spring.

I guess it would stand to reason that with the heavier BB, more pressure is required which means the rubber will wear faster. But, considering a replacement cage/roller is about $12-$15, a once-per-year replacement won't break the bank.

If you like the performance of the 0.28s vs the 0.25s, I would stick with the 0.28s and just replace that roller as part of an annual maintenance.

And Metal Tech has not chopped, misfed or jammed on me once. KSC Perfect 0.25s were another story. If you have consistant jamming or misfeeding, check the barrel alignment. I've fixed that one before, and on the field yet during a game.

i just purchased brand new mags, the six pack. All but one seems to be feeding fine. I did the spring stretch thing and it works, but it takes about 30mins for one mag, piece of shit!

spend 300$ on new mags and they dont even work properly...

Hey just wondering what the noise level on your PTWs is.

I threw in a battery, and dry fired it 3-4 times (with an M90 cylinder), and then 3-4 times with the receiver open to make sure the sound was coming from the motor... It kinda sounded like.. "VVvvvveeeeep". Is this a regular sound? The motor is definitely audible....

Cheers

Make sure you don't have the bearing under the motor and back off the set screw and ensure it's Loc-Tite secured.

My 490 in my M16 is a bit noisy with the M150, but the M130 on down it's quite quiet.

490's are dying all over the world. Talk to teckleberry or something like that on the SystemA forums. He found a permanent fix for dying and DEAD 490's. Only problem, shipping is $$$$ since he lives in the UK

I ordered a comm lathe, and will try his procedure on a dead motor and see if we can do this in Canada.

Yeah, I think my 490 is dying.

EDIT: definitely a 490. Has "11t" markings on it.

Fuck, this is the first time I pulled the trigger on her, too.

EDIT2: Led was flashing when put into semi.... High pitched whine (still sounds like "Veeep") is still there.
