My VFC SCAR-L:
Hoping to get a longer inner/outer barrel and actual SCAR flash hider so I can make her a bit longer for outdoor when needed. Also wanting to get a Magpul MIAD/MOE grip, hopefully the beaver-tail grip will work on the SCAR.

Wow the scar is really growing on me, i really think this will become my second gun, i'm pretty sure i'll go VFC, they seem to be the betterchoice, now if i could only decide between black or tan.

No gas version of the MK 17 yet. Fewer AEG versions too.

WE has a SCAR-H lower coming out, not sure if they're interchangable.
Looking to get a STANAG compatable AEG pretty soon, Rather get one of these than some lousy M16/M4 variant. So, whats the deal with VFC? Anything I should look out for when or if I buy one? |

The Heavy has a longer upper receiver also so it's not likely to be hot swapable.
VFC may have put theirs on hold for the time being. With the US ditching the 5.56 variant demand could have dropped off. Well a video just showed up, YouTube - VFC SCAR GBB山寨版^_^ I don't know if it will come with the eagle shirt.

Although the 7.62 "H" MK-17 looks a lot better in my opinion it's not as cost effective for one reason. Magazines.
The SCAR-L (MK-16) uses STANAG style M4/M16 magazines which are readily available from dozens of manufacturers. The SCAR-H (MK-17) uses proprietary style magazines which cost more and are only available from a few limited manufacturers. This was the deciding factor for me since I like to run at least 8-10 magazines.

Nice, why the rail riser on the bottom?

Thank you my friend - and to answer your question; I am a fan of uniqueness. Having the riser on the bottom changes it's look completely in my opinion.
