When painting a M4 GBBR - do you remove anything, ie charging handle or do you just paint the entire gun assembled?
Any M4 specific tips?

Well, i dunno if this helps much but, just form looking at the pictures i would say people just spray paint the entire gnu assembled unless you wanted a specific color scheme. Of course the dust cover would be closed. I would also think that in order to prevent the paint to get extremely wet when painting (which could seep into the insides of the gun) you would have to spray at least maybe 20- 30 cm away from the gun. Thats how i paint my parts. I painted my upper receiver a few months ago and i screwed up a couple times when i sprayed at it too close.

Never assume anything when painting your rifle. There is usually a ton of prep work before even painting. I would recommend hanging the rifle you wish to paint so you can get 360 paint coverage and air for drying at the same time.
This won't be my first time painting a rifle, check out my previous work: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...27#post1245027
