@ Sugs I like it, looks like you did a really good job. Glossy yeah, but it looks awesome haha.
This is my KWA G36C That I painted, it's not the best job ever (took like 30 minutes) but I plan on doing it again in the spring a cadpat design and leaving it like that. Also seen in this picture are my underwear, hiking backpack, cooler with a video camera in it chalk and a glove. Just if anyone wanted to know what my bedroom floor looks like. Edit: My girlfriend also made me a paracord sling. |

I got bored a couple nights ago and decided to repaint my L96 so here it is. pictures aren't the greastest but they get the point across.
Oh and yes I know, the scope is a little shiney. I'm gonna knock it down with some steel wool to dull it down. |

Tried my hand at painting. 1st attempt turned out ok. Used a busted 1911 springer and my Sig552 that is awaiting repair on the body (so I left that part blank)
Cheers

If the paint job is to cover up a clearsoft/cansoft gun, then clear-coat is entirely appropriate.

What's Clearsoft got to do with it? (... I'm suddenly hearing Tina Turner saying that)

Even with a clear coat, it will wear out. Only slower and at the right place where there is actual friction.
Krylon and especially other cheap brand of paint chip and flake only by looking at it on some material.
