Something like an airsoft flintlock would not be a replica.

Hell, even real muzzle loaders are not considered firearms for the purposes of registration.

The Dragon looks nothing like a real gun and so that's why it's not confiscated by customs. In real fact it's a customized M4, but under all that ABS plastic it looks like a laser rifle of some sort (it's actually from the Ghost in the Shell anime)

Yeah but people laugh at JG Dragons, if you don't mind people laughing at it then its functionality should be great

Are you sure about that? I visit their site regularly, and some of their Pro Grade ICS and TSD Tactical guns look pretty solid colored. Of course, I guess they could be somewhat translucent. It's hard to tell for me with those tiny pics. Trying to enlarge them just distorts them a bit. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Either way, I like the ICS MP5 SD6, which I believe will be my first gun, unless I can find a G3 or G36 somewhere in Canada. I almost bought a crappy little Desert Eagle wanna be gun tonight for $17. Kinda wish I would have. Maybe go back and get it tomorrow. At least I'll have something until I get verified.

EDIT: Just took a good look at the ICS MP5 SD6 product desciption. It's fully metal, which I assume means no clear receiver?

Those guns have been out of stock for longer than a year, so they are as good as gone

Well the truth is, you can drive to the U.S. and back and the customs don't check you very much. I don't exactly recommend trying to bring back a gun unless you declare it, which is asking for confiscation unless your gun is semi auto, fires 407-500 FPS and you are willing to fight for it in court.

If you have $10,000 to pay for the fine not to mention any other legal ramifications that may occur

Fine for what? If a gun shoots between 407 and 500 FPS and is not a full auto, it is not considered a Replica Firearm because it can cause "serious bodily harm". You may have to pay for the shipping and other charges if the RCMP decides to ship your gun away to be chronoed. As long as you declare what you are bringing and you aren't trying to bring in something stupid like cocaine, you should have no real legal problems.

Pestobanana, I would recommend you not go about dispensing legal advice in your short time here. Instead, focus on being allowed to play.

I've lived in Canada for 8 or 9 years and I've been airsofting for 4. If you think that is a short time, then ok.

You've been on ASC for a month. That's what I'm referring to.

Playing in the woods or your backyard with your buddies is a tad bit different than getting out with a group of 200 individuals at a milsim. There are different rules for players and expectations by the community as a whole for your behaviour on the field and off the field with your gun.
