A minor question, do you have to disassemble everything off the lower receiver? Or can I leave the trigger mechanism, and buffer tube on for the engraving process?

If you are just getting it engraved and not sandblasted or powder coated, as long as the lower will lay flat/level without rocking I don't think disassembling would be required, but your best bet would be to send Dave at imperial engravers an email.

For clarification, if I have existing engraving (etc.) on the lower reciever, and I want new engravings, would they have to sandblast it? I guess powdercoat it as well?

Has anyone done it? If so, does the metal at that portion feel thinner?

Also, are the mentioned costs taxes included?

Cheers

When I spoke to dave he said that "factory" engravings similar depth to the Semi/Auto/Safe engravings on most lowers will be removed by default when sandblasting is done, and then engraving can be done over top, your only loosing a few mm of material so it shouldn't be that much thinner plus if you get it powder coated that will add some material.

as for cost, I can't comment as I have not had it done yet, but I would assume it would be plus tax

Ahh, ok. I'm basically thinking of getting a G&P reciever from Toronto Airsoft and changing it to C8 markings.

If you have a picture it makes it a lot easier, but if it's trades like some of the ones he's done here he should be able to pull up previous work and modify it how you want.

If he hasn't done the specific trademarks you're looking for, then yes, send him some hi-res images. (I sent him images when I had my KJW P229 done, turned out great BTW)

I am still trying to afford that new mini cnc machine and my new daughter!
The new mini cnc will allow me to have more control over the deep engraved airsoft.
Currently I do the deep YAG laser, but not the cnc engravings myself.

so the next 7 customers get this pricing:

m4 receiver
sandblast
cera coat
re engrave
$100 including shipping!

I haven't ceramic coated an m4 receiver yet, someone send me one!

I love the finish/hardness of the cera, smokes the powder coat and is a thinner coat. So better for moving parts.
