Depending on how its set up, some GBBRs can have more recoil than the RS counterparts firing blanks.

Yeah, I can attest to this. GBB M4 (WA) modified to hell recoils harder than a C7 firing blanks. Though I kind of intended that.

All of the GBBR I have generate more recoil than a .22 long rimfire ( yeah I know not much)

The recoil is minimal, but certainly has an effect on follow on shot, particularly for longer distance, Effective handling and good firing positions are important for best results.

The stance used to fire guns is the same stance taken for any combat.. in that it is a balanced supported position wherein energy can be transfered to the earth.

Also , how you hold the gun is also optimized for this energy transfer.

The elbow out position is effective to focus recoil into the shoulder and transfer it to the body to be dissipated to the ground, however this transfer will serve to displace the body and recovery will rely upon the degree of relaxation of the shooter.. more relaxed will result in faster recovery.

Shooting in a combat situation is not conducive to relaxation, so modern doctrine is a more rigid upper body structure, with the elbow tucked in and contacting the torso to provide an additional recoil dissipation pathway. This coupled with the realities of rigid body armour and a less "bladed" shooting posture to present the armour informs the "modern" gunfighter shooting stance. Recoil transfer is now facilitated by the body armour.. through the dampening properties of the mass.

In addition the lighter recoil of modern military weapons have facilitated the changes in the classic "rifleman" posture to the Modern "gunfighter" posture.

When it comes to jerking off your front grip VS using it as a reference and stop to index the bore all one need to do is try it either way to experience the superiority of the bore indexing method.

Okay so way to make the most of my (admitted) lack of knowledge on GBBRs arseholes, but what about stance when using an AEG? Any other input from some air rifle shooters maybe?
