Tokyo Marui wants to go full metal.

That's great news.

The stick battery seems like bad news, but I guess we have to consider that the price of cells over in Japan is probably alot lower. If I had 5 stick batteries, it wouldn't bother me at all ...

Yeah, it has a god damn fullstock but they're putting the battery in the front...

The Type89 buttstock is narrower then a M16 fullstock so they slapped it in the front.

I certainly didn't expect domestic price in Japan to be that high. Don't know if they're trying make more money or can't keep their cost down like other TMs.

Okay, looks like TM is pulling out ALL the stops for this gun...

FarEast's Trip

FMU Reciever, EG1000BT Motor, V8 Mechbox, Entirely New Magazine System, Bipod, And 3 round burst... I think that might just warrant a price bump...

Jesus fracking Christ, I never thought TM would put out a gun with such a high metal content. It's like a dream...

Now all they have to do is find a way to lock the mechbox when the magazine is empty.

I'm excited about this Type 89, but moreso about the future products. Not that I don't find the Type 89 attractive, and appealing, but if it's saying anything about what might be coming out in future from TM, I'm thrilled to think they may release new metal models, or re-release some long overdue updated guns.

yeah same here i would also like to know the date for when these babies come out. but i personally think that we wont see any T89's in canada till the 2nd or 3rd batch of the gun because i think TM will be to busy making sure the home population get this gun because as some of us know the japenese are very proud of they're country and this gun is something of a god sent to them.

With any luck, it'll be SO popular, TM will sell so many that by the time they arrive here, they'll practically be on sale.

For any Japanese airsofter would buy it. Type 89 isn't eye catching to some of us but at least TM is making some steps against other competitors.

I really like the features of the type 89, although I don't really dig the looks.
I'll pray they redesign the m16 and m4 and put all these features in...but I doubt it.

For all you trademark freaks there's also finally a G17 with full trades.
