Systema PTW Basic Info and FAQ

Do you guy's have any tricks to install a magpul asap plate on a ptw... The kind of key that go in the buffer tube keeps falling inside the wire hole..

Edited : electrical tape in the back of the asap to keep it from falling

1. Remove your crane stock.

2. Remove the cylinder receiver plate (buffer tube cap) from the front of the buffer tube carefully, by pulling up on its edge all around it but by bit. (This will stop little pieces from cracking off.)

3. Push the rear boards and wires through the buffer tube slightly, so they aren't seated inside the small wire slot cut into the front of the buffer tube where it enters the receiver. (This will stop your wires from shearing when you turn your buffer tube)

4. Use an armorers wrench to loosen the castle nut, or buffer nut.

5. Now as long as your wires are free of the slot, you can screw your buffer tube out of the receiver.

6. The backing plate will come loose, and you need to ensure you do not lose the tiny pin and spring(s) that hold in your takedown pin (rear receiver pin).

7. Pull the rear boards and wires free from the buffer tube.

8. Switch in the Magpul plate in, gently place the boards and wires back into the buffer tube, still minding the tiny spring(s) and pin.

9. Screw the buffer tube back into the receiver, minding that the rear board wires do not get sheared. (I can't stress this enough.)

10. Ensure that your buffer tube cap (cylinder receiver plate) is in a comparable place as the the width of the Magpul plate may be a little different. The crane stock may need to be in or out one extra turn from before. (Mind those wires "every" time your turn your buffer tube.)

11. Tighten in your castle but with an armorers wrench, once it is all in place.

12. Push in your buffer tube cap for the last time, hopefully. (With your cylinder in, your receiver should close snug to tight, but never hard to close, or even remotely loose. You may need more or less of the little rings that are around the buffer tube cap.

13. Reinstall your crane stock.

14. Should be good to go. Or you're crying because you lost the little spring(s) and/or pin, or you sheared your wires.

The problem whas coming from the key way on the buffer tube... On the asap plate the key is not molded or machined in the plate, it's a small 1/8 x 1/8 by 1/4 long. When i was trying to install it the small key was always falling.

They make GBBR/PTW specific ASAP plates, there should be no modding or difficulty installing them...

You plug in the battery, switch it to semi, one trigger pull, and the optics board flashes constant at a moderate pace? Motor. Your armature needs a rewinding.
