In airsoft, you are 100% correct, chicken wings are fine. In the real world, you'd better hope they come with hot sauce or a medic, because they get you killed.

Chicken wings are not about shouldering the weapon.

Then you are doing it wrong. The butt should either lock into your gear, or fall into the pocket created in your shoulder when you bring the rifle up to your face. If there is no pocket, you need to change how you shoulder the rifle.

In a CQC environment, no wings means no knocking into corners, partners or anything else. You can slide around a corner easier with our elbows down, and it makes you an overall smaller target.

Woa, easy on the intimidation there, mr.QOR

I never said chicken wings were for CQB. That's pretty obvious, because like you said, "my elbow would explode".

For ranged shots, chicken wings are perfectly acceptable. Just not the 90 + degree kind. That's just overdoing it.

But yeah, let me know if I'm wrong. I'd like what someone with experience (actualy mil. exp.) has to say.

I'm afraid I still don't agree. None of the training I have taken points to it being more stable (i find I shoot better tucked in in fact) or acceptable unless you are prone.

Anyone? All my stuff has been private training in the US. Perhaps the Army has a different opinion. Love to hear it before I get there and get jacked up over it.

I have no mil exp, but have played allot at TTAC and have seen many a chicken wing (including mine) get shot when trying to pie a corner.
