You've already made up your mind, so why bother asking? Also the lack of AV means I wouldn't be surprised if it's a fifteen year old.

where you can use a clear spring pistol and be uber l337?

if you already believe that the brand is good, and by the looks of things nothing we say is going to change that, why start this thread in the first place?

and as for the auto ordnance thompson, doing a bit of searching around its a rebrand of the CYMA thompson, which isnt THAT bad.
Crossman on the other hand......

Hahahaha crossman. That's like asking "Is Wendy's a good restaurant to take a girl for a first date to impress her?" Made my day. Thank you...I was having a bad day till I read that.

You're on a site full of Canadian experts who have dissected guns down to the bearing in the search of better and more reliable performance. Think about that for a bit.

I've still got my original crosman spring pistol from 05/06, still shoots.. but like crap!

Are you thinking Cybergun/Cyma, perhaps?

I took my girl for our first "date" to Wendys, because I knew she loved the place
2 almost 3 years later, we still go once and awhile hah.

Here is what should be considered. As a guy who has seen a plethora of guns under all situations for the past 2 years.

-25C
+40C

Step 1, enter into this with a solid starter. This is going to be your 1"go to "gun. It will get you out of shit, fall back on, whatever you want to call it.

But you NEED a solid go to gun. Crossman aint it.

I suggest you research guns like the Echo 1 Platinum Version.

Here is how this will go if you don't.
  • You will buy a piece of shit.
  • Go play and be out gunned
  • Gun will break
  • You will try and fix. Spend maybe $80 to get it going
  • then breaks again
  • And you spend another $80

Finally, you say fuck it. You like the sport. But you need to ditch the gun and get a new one. The one you have goes in the garbage cause its worthless.

So THEN you go buy the next gun.

One like the Eco 1

Why am I saying that one? Its VFC internally and this gun will not be a piece of shit. You wont need to do anything to it. And if you spring up to the next level?

She is your go to gun.

You want to sell it? Yup, you can.

Pay me now....pay me later + interest.

You can pick up a good quality Cybergun/King Arms Thompson for $200 or so, I believe? Brand new, no worries about quality or previous mileage.

We can talk Thursday or whenever we meet up.

Without knowing this fellow, it's hard to say how he has treated the weapon and what he could have done with it.
(WD40 down the barrel, etc..) There are a fair few things he could have done to it, that one should never do.

Metal doesn't mean quality. They are not good reliable brands for people who want to airsoft. They are toys for plonking in your basement. This forum is the most collective and experienced there is. Your friends likely don't know what they are talking about because they haven't experienced proper airsoft guns. A kraken is better than a Crossman, but yet neither brand is worth your time and/or money. Get AV'ed and we can tell you where to buy the best priced, most reliable, and proper grades of weapons. Don't rush into junk, you'll regret the same as all the others we've warned over the years.
