No Clue about Canada yet but if what i know about the NFA laws these might be perfectly legal to own and sell down there though they're over 15mm so who knows

I believe they will be considered illegal for practical purpose (aside from the foam one)

Smoke will be hard to get due to transport requirement
Explosive is illegal.

Dead thread bump..

Any further developments on these more versatile shell types, specific to Canadian market availability?

Explosives are illegal??? I really hope you were not serious. If you were than in my opinion this qualifies as the stupidest thing I have seen posted on ASC.

I'm no lawyer but...

PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES

6. Except as authorized under this Act and subject to such exemptions as may be provided by regulation, no person shall
(a) make or manufacture any explosive, either wholly or in part, except in a licensed factory;
(b) sell any authorized explosive unless that person is the operator of a licensed factory or licensed magazine and is authorized to sell explosives;
(c) store any explosive in a magazine that is not a licensed magazine;
(d) have in his possession any explosive; or
(e) carry on, except in a licensed factory, any of the following processes, namely,
(i) dividing an explosive into its components, or otherwise breaking up or unmaking any explosive,
(ii) making fit for use any damaged explosive, or
(iii) remaking, altering or repairing any explosive.

and now this one is from the Criminal Code

Possession without lawful excuse

82. (1) Every person who, without lawful excuse, the proof of which lies on the person, makes or has in the possession or under the care or control of the person any explosive substance is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding five years.

since this device has not as of yet been classified under the law, that would default it to "illegal". Especially since the original statment was directly in reference to transportation, you go aead and try to use your argument to Canada customs while you try to bring one across the border.

Apparently I was confused as to who you directed your original comment at since you had not quoted a post in your contribution to this thread... But I know your most recent post can't be directed at me because, if it were, you would be saying that I think explosives are 100% A-O-K when my entire post was a quotation of legislation that clearly shows that possession of explosives is a prohibited activity and is illegal...

..for the record, i'm more interested in the powder marker rounds, for area affect. Knowing my luck i'd sling a pyro round straight into my foot...never mind the health and safety of others.

Honestly we had some guys here in Ontario rig up an M203 with a Madbull shell and launch it out of an M203. It functioned beyond expectations and was really fuckin' cool.

But I would say these things are pretty dangerous to use unless it was a controlled environment or someone who is specifically trained to use these. There is a lot of risk launching a quarter/half pound object at a hundred feet per second

For an idea of what we are dealing with watch the link I included below. The force that thing has at launch is enough to seriously injure or kill someone. Being on the receiving end of it and taking it in the head would probably suck a lot and be a no duff generator.

I don't want to be a buzzkill because I would get an instant MILSIM hard on launching smoke 100-200 feet away into enemy positions, but these things have obvious safety issues that would make it difficult to put into the hands of a vast majority of players.

Considering it took around 20 years for the law to define airsoft, I wouldnt imagine we will see any of these things any time soon.
