That was pretty common for both the germans and the russians. The Germans 'loved' the PPSh41, since it gave them an excuse to use their 7.63x25 Mauser rounds (M712, C96 etc. Not very common for even the germans) since it fed into the guns. They would capture and rename them the Mp717(r).

Its the excuse I'm using for when I get my german kit together. Just going to use my Pps-cough cough. My MP717(R)!

And I hear there is a 'big' wwii game is coming up or something :-)
Yes there is, but it is a western front game, no Russians, but room for lots of partisans,

I almost went WWII Russian a few years back, this is exactly why I wound up not doing it. Had a pretty good set of S.S. gear put together as well, but I got rid of it all right quick earlier this year.

That said, if there's others doing WWII russian, that'd motivate me to go that route once I have some other things squared away. If not, I'm just going to go Canadian or British.

I really like Hikishop, their stuff is nice and well made for an overseas company.
Also with the price of airsoft dropped you could easily get a ppsh, and hikishop has both drum magazine pouches and stick magazine pouches.

You could also check out Trident Military for your Russian needs. They have most everything you'll need. They are in the US so the sizes won't be a problem.

I was wondering if anyone here has any dealings with them and could give us some insight into their reputation.

I have two Mosin Nagant and an SVT-40, all real steel and wouldn't mind getting a PPSh41, Mosin Nagant or SVT-40 for airsoft. I'd like to get into re-enacting one way or another, that's why I got my S.S. gear in the first place until that became a very unappealing direction for me. If more of you are going to go WWII Russian, I've a pretty good reason to go to

I tried to deal with Trident few years ago for a pretty large group order. Very, very, very slow communications and prices were kind of high. I figured if it takes them that long to close fairly large deal I'd try somewhere else. Than I found Igor (frontofrussia). Got all things from him, guy also put some freebies in the package
I dealt with this retailer as well ( http://www.soviet-propaganda.com ) Reasonable prices/shipping costs. They sent me $180 DPM gorka instead of pattern I wanted. Fixed it by sending me what I asked for at no extra charge and I got to keep DPM suit.

Trident IS slow in delivery. Took my first order about 6 weeks to get to me, they had to wait until the boots were in apparently, but I did get what I ordered. Check out the web site of the 193 Rifles and they have a lot of vendors for the Russian side. Venture Airsoft has the Nagant rifles in stock right now. I just picked up my BAR and K98 from him last Friday. I checked out the Nagant and compaired to the real steel its not up to standard. Loose metal fittings etc, although I'll still probably get one in future as I like rifles rather than SMGs'. Hope you get your things in time for OP Woodsman.

No point, OP Woodsman is not Eastern Front. So "Russians" would find themselves out of place, except perhaps, as partisans.

I'd be worried if there were Russian partisans in Belgium ...

It's good to see interest growing on the "russian front"

it would be good to do some eastern front games next season

There were records of Russian partizans being captured as far down as France, it was extremely rare, and those that were captured had usually slipped out of capture and decided to cause trouble :P

I do realize Wikipedia isn't particularly reference material, but I've read it from other sources that are credible, just don't have those online or on hand

Most likely they did not drag their equipment across half of Europe.

No, very unlikely, as most of them escaped from the Germans
