it looks like a short stroke mod. Which end of the piston did you remove teeth? (if you did remove any) Take some pics of the internals so we can help you better.

Care to explain exactly HOW you checked (and modified) the AOE? ARL depends what gears you've got.. I'd suggest the Prometheus one, it sits nicely in CA and G&P Gearboxes and has a very strong spring. |

you need a few shims to get the piston back a bit farther. Are you missing any teeth on the sector gear? I'm trying to figure out why the piston isn't going all the way back.

yup. AOE is done by shimming the piston head so the piston sits back a bit to align the teeth of the gear and piston so they mesh perfectly.

you need to add shims between the piston head and piston. You can make them with just plastic you get from packages. Here's a pic that doesn't have the AOE mod. And you can see that the teeth don't make a full contact with each other. http://img75.imageshack.us/f/100_2828Medium.jpg/

Damn saw this too late.
Well more input: The REASON that it happened is that you removed too much material from your 2nd tooth (in addition to everything being out of alignment) When shaving the 2nd tooth you want to do a LITTLE BIT then test, then a little bit, then test. |

What if your piston doesn't come with a second tooth?
