I also have an interest in this, aswell as some questions for you guys that are interested in german devisions.

I am of the understanding that the MP40/38 was used by very few troops, but one of the devisions that used it was the paratroopers. I also understand that the paratroopers wore camo simular to what is Flecktarn.

I was wondering who in the lower main land would be interested in doing a paratrooper devision.

Also I was wonder what gear people would suggest, I currently have no gear so I would need some help to get started.

well they made about a million of them during the war. I dont know how that compares to other weapons, but it sounds like they would be frequently seen.

I can guarantee you nobody's gunna get pissed at you for buying an mp40 and going for a more classic German load out. Just like for allied impressions, everyone seems to have the Thompson.

Heer also used mp38/40 for in late-war, it was made for city CQB e.g. stalingrad.

Luftwaffle Field Division used almost everything. MP38/40, KAR98K, Mp44..etc. currently i have a full set of Heer impression gear with splinter camo smock, Tanaka Kar98k, AGM MP40 and a Tanaka Luger P08.

I'm in Alberta, wanna get into it, but Van and area is so far away (plus trying to convince the wife is a whole different story).
Trying to decide between Fallschrimjager or Gebirgsjager get-up.

And 007 is taking his sweet ass time getting back to me about my Tanaka Kar-98

37800Y = 351.42$USD = 356.74$CAD multiply that by two, it'll be around 720$CAD if it gets into Canada , that is if there are anymore retailers left by March...

Though I'm slightly curious... just throwing this out as an idea, I don't suggest doing it and apologize in advance if this goes against any forum rules, but couldn't you purchase a marushin M1/M2 carbine in the states, disassemble it and send it over in parts without it being seized? I know you wouldn't be able to do this with something like a M4 with the reciever and all but the M2 (from the pics I've seen) consists mainly of its stock and barrel, internals just look like random pieces of metal.

pics I'm referencing from:

the metal parts of the m1 are no more than buncha shattered small pieces, you can easily bring them over the boarder without any trouble.
it doesn't look like any kinda of weapon at all, well.. it's not!
so anyways, it's the stock that is the problem getting across.
your call!

Actually, the stock would not be an issue. I've ordered real M1 Garand stock, Thompson stocks and plastic M14 stock and all have come across the border with no issues. It's the receivers that would not be able to get through.

I've also never had any problems with ordering parts, so your idea may work.

Good to know!
My kar98 stock was cracked and i am planning on buying a real steel one to replace it..

Another good news is that airsoft m1 carbines' reciver's non-identical to any firing weapons around, if you throw them into a tool box it might look like just a mobile part..

Thanks for the info leecas!
