What do you do for a living exactly? I'd assume fabrication. That kit is simply amazing! What about making up an RPK kit? I hate to say it, but I like that kit you made more than the real steel Polish furnature I have on my AKM right now. Can you also make some nice foregrips without that vert grip? I love the vert grip but a few of us have the GP30 nade launchers so it wouldn't fit on that style of lower foregrip.
Cheers

I was gonna say.. those are absolutely beautiful...
Just for those people who don't want a vert grip, , if you make sets without, I'd bet there's plenty of interest. It makes me want to buy another AK, just for that. |

I forgot, well I did initially ... There is a way to make that little tab on the lower handguard stronger. You can guess the answer ... make it thicker. When I get real steel handguards I chop the tabs into a size twice the size of the Marui standard then modify the receiver to accept the new size. When Marui designed their lower handguard they only had plastic in mind, not wood. If I can ever get a snap shot of my hand guards I would be happy to show you.

freedom fighter......i used a wood called white oak for the tang going into the receiver....white oak is 'pound for pound' as strong as steel......and it seems to hold quite well......i fabricated a slot into the lower handguard and glued in the tang.....it was easier to align it that way.......also.....to make the lower foregrip handle stronger i put in a tensioned rod (nut and bolt) inside the whole length of the handle...

Amazing, even though I personally dont like front pistol grips on AK's, this one changed my mind! Simply amazing work! How long did it take you to make it?
Cheers, Alex |
